Close to 80,000 persons, constituting the entire Muslim population of the five Northern Districts of Jaffna, Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaithivu and Kilinochchi were summarily expelled from the province by the LTTE on one fateful day in October 1990 at a few hours notice. Jensila Majeed: An International Woman of Courage

A Muslim woman who has been under tremendous pressure in the battlefield and driven out by the Tamil rebels in 1990 from northern Mullaittivu to Puttalam, this lady had the courage to take up the challenge and serve the community under many difficulties with her husband and three children.
