Hindus don't worship cow, they are rather respected and are given a higher status by hindus when compared to other animals... after the birth of a child he is fed by mothers milk for 1-2 yrs, later on he is fed by cows milk for the rest of his life for his nourishment... so cow is given a status next only to a mother in hindu culture...
