In a bid to help BJP connect with the minority community and ensure its smooth victory, a group of Muslim political activists are busy campaigning for the party in the pollbound Jammu & Kashmir and Jharkhand .
Around 130 members of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, an affiliate of RSS, will be working closely with the Muslim community and motivate them to vote for BJP. These MRM members, most of whom are Muslims, have been especially trained to carry out campaign for the saffron party in Muslim-majority areas in the two states.
"MRM is already working with the Muslim community across the country. Our members and volunteers who have been specially sent to various districts in the two states will campaign for BJP and seek their vote," MRM national convener, Mohammed Afzal told MAIL TODAY.
"RSS leader Indresh Kumar is the patron of MRM, which was formed in 2002 in the national capital," Afzaal said, adding that the organisation aims to bring together nationalist Muslims and Hindus. Rejecting the common view that BJP was seen as an antiminority party, the MRM national convener said, "NaMo wave has gripped the country. Now, the minority community also wants to vote for Modi."
