Murad Saeed announces to extend Swat motorway to Kalam

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed has announced to extend the Swat motorway to Kalam.

In a video message, he said the project will be completed with the cooperation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

The minister said the credit goes to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government which completed Swat motorway project from its own resources.

“The extension of Swat motorway project will facilitate the people visiting the tourist spots in the area,” he said.

Applauding the performance of his ministry, Saeed said the revenue of National Highway Authority has increased due to reforms introduced by the present government. He said the highway authority is working to improve the condition of roads.

The road infrastructure will be improved for the tourist spots as well as to connect farms to the markets, the minister added.

The 81 kilometer-long Swat motorway facilitates tourists in traveling towards Kalam, Kumrat Valley and Dir. Moreover, the distance between Islamabad and Swat has shrunk to only five hours after the construction of the motorway.

Swat motorway has been linked with Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway at Karnal Sher Khan Interchange near Swabi.

Swat to bahrain is fine but from bahrain to kalaam, It took me 3+ hours last summer. But on the plus side Kalaam was nearly emty, while madyan and bahrain were super packed.

Same (NHA) people decided to continue with CPEC all the way to Karachi. Why than same people would cancel an awarded contract? and that too only after the bickering of this one character!
Day night this fake degree holder, blamed the contractor for corruption while the construction didn't even started, but now since same contract will be awarded again in future but at higher price, who are we going to blame than?

If most of the people in Pakistan are so bloody blind than... Pakistan ka Khuda Hafiz.

Dude he was bickering day and night against the contractor, who contract was awarded.
It's a fact that he ordered like cancellation of contract and now all of Pakistan will have to pay the higher price in next biding.

Yes contractor was paying bribes all the way from Multan to Sukkhur to every top dick and harry, who tried their best to stop create trouble in timely completion of the project.
PPP did all in their kitty to block this project but they failed but Murrad Saeed did it with his shouting.
Irony is that contractor finished the project, ahead of it's scheduled time. Now, If this looser party has any self respect, they should not appear in public again.
They think they can bury the facts, under the soil, with their abusive behaviors!

Here one can see Imran Khan govt. calling for new tenders in Nov. 2018. That's what i'm talking about, any audit can easily prove that Imran Khan awarded contract at much higher price, with far less technical specs.
Just wait, it's a matter of regime change, all of Imran Khan's efforts to hurt Pakistan economy will be paraded in streets. Now why he was doing as such only time will tell.

Here it says even LoI was awarded to China State Corporation in 2017, which was later canceled, and probably was recalled after cancellation, and at the moment tender is suspended due to increased price.
I think the reason for delay in re-award is Imran Khan team is looking to chip off some technical requirements, to keep the cost close to the level of the canceled award.

Sukkur-Hydrabad motorway will be build. Its the only section left between Peshawar-Lahore-Karachi motorway. I'm more worried about Karachi-Hydrabad motorway which is a joke really. They should have build new one.

Look at difference between quality of work from corrupt army organisation FWO and Chinese build motorway in Multan-Sukkur.

Any engineer worth it's salt would tell, that M5 section is the best ever section of Pakistan's motorway.
If previous govt. has done one good work, PTI will never able to deliver even 1/2 of that in their tenure of 5 years.

I would welcome, if Murrad Saeed can add 100km of motor way with similar specs. as Multan Sukkur motorway.

Yes that section compare to the rest of MotorWay is really a joke, but i'm sure current regime can't even handle a project, which is a joke in eyes of common man.

Road to kalam is already under construction and no need for another one. Instead this motorway should be extended to dir and chitral and beyond.
