Multiple Earthquakes hit Turkey/Syria - Thousands feared dead

Turkiye wide
7.7 magnitude earthquake affected 10 provinces
There were around 100 aftershocks, the largest of which was 6.6 magnitude.
1121 lives lost
7634 injured
2834 buildings collapsed or were severely damaged.

In Syria, the situation is a bit more uncertain.
The devastatingly affected areas in Syria are mostly Idlib and the north of Aleppo.

It's becoming one of the worst earthquakes in modern Turkish history
10 hours apart, two of the biggest earthquakes of the last century occurred. It was not only the Richter power that made the earthquake devastating, but also its acceleration, which was unprecedented in our geography.

To make a comparison, we are talking about an earthquake 5-6 times stronger than the 1999 Gölcük earthquake, which affected the entire tectonic structure in the region.

The biggest earthquake of the last century was the 7.9 Erzincan earthquake. Today's 2 earthquakes are too big to be compared to the 99 earthquake.

It was massive. And it lasted for more than one minute. I'll leave criticism for Erdogan for later, but he has responsibility too in this.

The scenes that we see on TV are devastating. They say 13,000,000 people are homeless.

Ya Allah Reham... Please protect those who are stuck, give strength to those who are busy in rescue works and give Sabr (Patience) to those who lost their loved ones.

The latest situation in disaster zone:

The number of people who lost their lives in earthquakes increased to 14014.

63794 people were injured in the earthquakes.
