And still you decide to ignore. Who are you trying to fool?

What are the chances of Hillary Clinton continuing as Secretary of State should Obama win a second term?

I believe she has done all the real talking and set the tone. If there is one person on Obama team who is handling foreign policy point blank then you don't have to look far. She is the real man on Obama's team.

Her continuation (subject to Obama's re-election) would mean that her words should give an indication of future US policy in the region.

The only "fool" here is you, unless you bring on the "proof" you spoke of in your previous post.

Bring it on! I'd be glad to demolish it.

What are his chances of winning the second term if the withdrawal from Afghanistan does not happen ? Does Obama have enough good will / domestic diversion to keep the voters interested ?

"It's the economy, stupid!"

(Please note this is a quote from Bill Clinton, I am not calling you or anyone stupid)

Obama's (and thus Hillary's) chances will all depend on the US economy and its domestic impacts.

No more lies.

On topic, Hilary is just a mouth piece that allows anyone to empower her presence within the US government. Her policies concerning Pakistan seem to coincide with issues regarding propaganda within Pakistan. It' basically like she does what someone tells her in the white house.**** that ****.

Truth in diplomacy is one of the biggest oxymorons ever!

Hillary is part of the leadership team, and she is one clever lady, thus it would be foolish to dismiss her words.

(PS: Where's the "proof"?)

.

How can we trust such a politician when it's been proved that she is a liar.

Mrs Clinton obviously has made a very strongly and cleverly worded diplomatic statement, that should be understood quite carefully, specially by the Pakistani leadership.

Well, that's all and good, but to which of these should Pakistanis pay attention:

"Good diplomats never mean what they say, and never say what they mean!"

^^^ Ah, that would be the million dollar question, now won't it? :P

It takes a diplomat to understand another diplomat, and that is why I fear Pakistan will not get the message that it should pay heed to if it is avoid adverse consequences.

Your compassion for Pakistan is boundless, but we should be equally if not more compassionate with the US, given her sacrifice in blood and treasure - If it is to avoid even greater expenditures of blood, treasure and prestige.

Of course. Consideration and Understanding are two way thoroughfares. :D

Now, I also think it’s important to take a little historical review. If you go on YouTube, you can see Sirajuddin Haqqani with President Reagan at the White House, because during the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan, the United States Government, through the CIA, funded jihadis, funded groups like the Haqqanis to cross the border or to, within Afghanistan, be part of the fight to drive the Soviets out and bring down the Soviet Union.

So when I meet for many hours, as I do, with Pakistani officials, they rightly say, “You’re the ones who told us to cooperate with these people. You’re the one who funded them. You’re the ones who equipped them. You’re the ones who used them to bring down the Soviet Union by driving them out of Afghanistan. And we are now both in a situation that is highly complex and difficult to extricate ourselves from.” That is how they see it.

appreciate her honesty. but therein lies the problem, at one point in time Haqqanis are supported, funded, invited to the white house to further american goals and interest and once those are achieved, the haqqanis/mujhadeens are dropped and now they're considered terrorists and "wild animals" - though they've yet to officially declare the haqqanis terrorists. now who's to say some time from now the same "wild animals" wont again become the strategic assets of the Americans again? already there are reports of Haqqanis being approached by Americans.

Now this is the line that Pakistan must tread lightly and they are. Pak knows what happend in the past and is carefully is planning and prepering for the "end game." Making some one friend and foe at the flip of a button and that too on the dictation of a third party is not very wise. And on top of that do it in your own home - your own backyard? Americans are sitting thousands of miles away, they can afford to flip the switch not Pak.

Post Soveit withdrawl and American abandonment of their stratgic assets, Pakistan was left aloneto deal with the fallout. Pakistan is next door to Afghanistan and will be the first to bear the brunt of any wrong move played there. And unlike the post soviet withdrawl if this time Pakistan is looking to safeguard it's national interest than it's not unreasonable.
