MP34
Caliber:9mm(.30Mauser, .45ACP)
Manufacturer:Steyr
Typical Use:Military & Police
The MP34 is a well-made sub machine gun offered in .30 Mauser, 9mm and .45ACP chamberings. The weapon uses a side mounted magazine, which makes the balance a bit awkward when carried fully loaded, but allows the shooter to assume a very low prone position. The safety is a turn-of-the-bolt handle in action:it is slow, awkward and uncertain. Its better to hold your hand in back of the bolt handle on an empty chamber or, if cocked, in front of it to keep the open bolt from going forward to fire a round than to use the safety. The MP34 offers selective fire, semi- or full-auto, and should be fired in semi auto mode unless a close-range or ambush situation presents itself.Rate of fire depends on the ammo used and state of lubrication and springs, but over six hundred rpm is typical. The straight designs stock helps maintain control and accuracy , but semi-fire will yield greater on-target results.
A bayonet lug is a nice feature, especially when guarding prisoners or closing with the enemy.
The heavy muzzle ventilated jacket is unnecessary, but may help hold down the muzzle in full -auto fire.
