Imran Khan is sitting in USA nowdays when Pakistan is going through such difficult times. This is his speech in Dallas on 3rd August.
Does he know what a common Pakistani feels?

Does he know how to get Pakistan out of this mess created by mistakes accumulated over decades?

There are various questions one might ask but when i listen to the man speaking it feels like he can do it, there is an air of confidence about him, looks like he knows what the problems of the country are and how to address them. His level of intellect is generations ahead of his political opponents. This can be seen in his public speeches, he is trying to get the votes by addressing the problems of the nation and giving solutions while the rest can only make false promise and create hue and cry.
The speech is almost an hour long but its worth it. Imran Khan is a better option then other hopelessly clueless politicians.

End of video 1: His claim that 400,000 people were stealing electricity with some kind of 'understanding' with WAPDA officials and that electricity theft cannot be possible 'without involving WAPDA' officials. Bull$itt! I know some people in Karachi who have 'creative' ways to steal electricity without involving WAPDA and are scared to death being caught.
Also in video #1: Mr. Khan claims that people in Pakistan vote 'for the corrupt because people are afraid'. Another BS argument: It is a combination of ethnicity/biradery/secatrian AND financial reasons.

I am not going to watch the rest of the videos. I have NO DOUBT that, across the board, there are plenty of corrupt politicians in various assemblies of Pakistan and that Imran Khan is indeed a sincere person. However, I have serious doubts about his political judgments, about his temper, about his tolerance of dissent.

I would rather have politicians who take little kickbacks from contracts to have Agosta submarine delivered to Pakistan rather than a chaste-mullah or superficial patriot who would pi$$ off everyone in the international community, alienate dissenting voices locally and, in the end, will bring Pakistan back to square one.

I so much wish Imran Khan really grows up fast politically. 13 years of political career after being a national hero should have been enough but it is not.

Is it strange the mess Pakistan in after reading comments about Imran Khan ? Tell me one leader in current Pakistan who u would prefer more than Imran Khan? 99% are corrupt, killers, ........................... list is long.

What Imran Khan says about taliban that we should talk with them and dont work with USA. Whats wrong in that ? Isnt Pak goverment saying our doors are open for talks ? Isnt USA trying same but keep telling u NOT TO TALK WITH TALIBAN ?

1) You might know some people but you wouldnt know 400,000 of them. My point being that statistics are sometimes misleading but they paint an overall picture, Mr. Khan has rightly pointed towards a problem which exists and is costing Pakistanis a lot.

2) You say that people normally vote for their biradery/ethnicity etc.. but they cannot vote for a change, for someone new because they are afraid of the backlash it will bring for them. So FEAR is a factor.

3) And you are satisfied with the political judgment of the current govt. over the last 2 years. recent case in hand is Mr. Zardari's visit to UK with his country going through the worst natural disaster, if this is not enough the PM of UK had made statements belittling Pakistan's efforts in WOT. Mr. Zardari almost created a diplomatic blunder by his visit. You talk about Tolerance of Dissent... how do you like the current govt. banning Pakistan's major News media ?.

4) Your wish of having corrupt politicians in power has been answered in abundance, i wish you had asked for something else. As far as alienating Pakistan is concerned, you can do what ever you like but the west is not geniunly going to accept you, this has been the case for Pakistan even when we were with them or against them. Mr. Cameroon, Mullen and Hillary clinton's statements just to name a few will give you a dose of reality.

5) Imran Khan will be the last one to take Pakistan to square one, it seems that you are completely out of touch with the affairs of Pakistan otherwise you would have known that we are already RUNNING towards square one.

PPL he is talking about who steal electricity er like nawaz sharif, parveez musharif, son of zia etc. WAPA is involved i know from my experince in Pakistan.

And that PPL vote since they are afraid is also true. PPL want sceurity and if there ppl wins they can do what every they want too.

GIVE ME ONE NAME WHO IS BETTER THAN IMRAN KHAN. AS PERSON, AS LEADERS, WELL SPOKEN etc....... I have listen now to all speach and he as always 100% correct.

Usama86,
You ranting cannot hide the exaggerations Imran Khan is making in his video: He is blowing up WAPDA's corruption in the same breath when he is talking about the 'most corrupt person' Zardari, thus clearly implying that WAPDA is corrupt because Zardari is corrupt. I think Imran Khan is wrong: WAPDA has been corrupt, electricity has been stolen en masse even under Musharraf. Similarly, him being saying that 'fear' is the main factor people vote the corrupt is another dishonest opinion.
I take exception to his generalizations. I concede he is honest--probably more 'sincere' that most of the politicians in the Parliament today. But, in my opinion, he is neither the 'leadership' stuff, nor he has the temperament, nor does he have tolerance for dissent (not 'Zardari' did not ban Geo and I have posted about that too).

Imran Khan has a 13-year political career on top of decades of being a hero in Pakistan. And yet what does he achieve: He endorses Musharraf's coup and then reverses his decision. During 2007 he hid in some houses to escape capture by Musharraf's police, by saying that he was going to use his freedom to 'rally the nation', only to be fooled by Jamaati into getting caught. Not to mention his aggressive, yet futile claims to bring Altaf Hussain to 'justice'.

You guys need to realize that ultimately it is the politcians who are going to run Pakistan. Even the best of Generals become politicians over time--both Ayub, Zia and Musharraf formed political parties and often co-opted 'corrupt' politicians. And politicians the world over get corrupted by power. There will be no exception should Imran Khan become the PM: Such is the nature of power.

By all means promote Imran Khan. I truly wish him success because I know he is sincere and that may be I wrong about him. I infact had my family in Karachi talked into voting for him in 2002 elections. Now I know better: He is just not a leadership material.
