SIG Sauer P320 adopted by more LE agencies (SIG)
Hot on the heels of the news that Florida’s 65 Comments, two more law enforcement agencies have followed suit. Arkansas’ Jacksonville PD and the Texas Department for Public Safety have also selected the P320 as their new service pistols.
On the 14 June, SIG Sauer released a statement announcing that Arkansas’ Jacksonville Police Department had selected the P320 as their official duty pistol. The P320 will arm the department’s 56 officers and 4 auxiliary officers a move away from the Glocks currently in use.

The Department for Public Safety has a dozen divisions dealing with a wide range of including law enforcement, vehicle registration and emergency management. The department is also responsible for a number of divisions with armed officers, including: the Texas Highway Patrol, state SWAT, the Texas Criminal Investigations division and the Texas Rangers.

This substantial contract will see well over 3,000 officers and rangers armed with P320s. The Texas DPS will acquire 4,000 P320s for use with the following divisions: Highway Patrol, Criminal Investigations Divisions (CID), Aircraft Division, Executive Protection Bureau, Intelligence and Counterterrorism, Texas Rangers, SWAT, and Special Operations Group. The press release did not state what calibre Texas DPS’ new guns would be chambered in or what configurations of the P320 might be ordered.
