'Naughty Boy' GSLV puts 'South Asia' satellite into orbit

The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-F09 (GSLV-F09) on Friday successfully launched India's gift to South Asia - the Geostationary communication satellite-9 (Gsat-9) - into a Geostationary orbit, also making the it the first Indian satellite to use an electric propulsion.

Looks like a diplomatic coup has been successfully pilled off by Narendra Modi.. This is the first time in history of the world when a country has launched a satellite to be used by its neighbor free of cost.

Buddy, what was that fell off from the booster? That doesn't look normal to me? First stage separation doesn't happen so quick? Not even the strap ons?

Can we shed some light here?

First stage separate at T+148 seconds. And the first stage & the strapons separate together.
