Modi offers Gujarat for R&D of military equipment


Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday advocated more indigenous research and development for the sake of armed forces and offered the state as a manufacturing/research base.


"I would like to call upon defence scientists and experts for more indigenous research and development of latest defence equipment and technology for Indian armed forces," Modi said at a function in Changa, Anand.

He said Gujarat could be a platform for such research and manufacturing.

Modi presented 'Vasvik awards' to 25 scientists at the function. Awards have been instituted by Mumbai-based Vividhlakshi Audyogk Sanshodhan Vikas Kendra (VASVIK) for scientific and industrial research.

The song really suits Modi big time. He's the only Man left in the country's polity. I so wish he gets the PM post. I am jealous of Gujaratis. They've the finest man in India's modern history for PM post and secularist jerkheads are ruining it all.

the only chief concern is close proximity of gujrat to the border... may be research and testing center can be developed in the state. We would also need strategic combat training schools for urban warfare, to be provided to special forces, Para forces and Army squads.

And all this proves Gujarat's military R&D how? It's easy to get washed up in jingoistic sentiments without realizing there's no underlying truth to support the same.Hope you understand what I'm getting at.

Military R&D is in its infancy all over India. I am talking about overall industrial progress if you had the will to re-read my statements. I never said that Modi has created a Boeing of weapons in Gujarat. But his capability to industrialize at lightning speeds and his love for innovation can make Gujarat a premier hub for military R&D ALSO.

Is that so hard to understand or is it just that you can't digest the man like the rest?

Not really.If you look at the statistics,The majority of defence technicians and scientists are from Southern India.Tamil Nadu or Karnataka can stake a far higher claim for being the defence hubs of India.Gujarat can't claim squat in that department just because Tata decided to build Nanos there or Reliance has to be there on compulsions of the basins being located in Gujarat.

If there was some semblance of fact in the above claimed rhetoric,I would support the same.That just isn't the case and least of all to do with liking or disliking Modi bro!!!
