Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said "Karachi" instead of "Kochi" while addressing a public meeting in Gujarat's Jamnagar.

The slip of tongue happened while the PM was speaking of the virtues of the Centre's flagship Ayushman Bharat scheme, which provides health cover up to Rs 5 lakh per family.

During his speech, PM Modi said that the health insurance scheme allowed a resident of Jamnagar to avail treatment anywhere in the country, be it 'Kolkata' or 'Karachi'.

"Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, if a resident of Jamnagar has gone to Bhopal and falls sick, he need not come back to Jamnagar for treatment. If he shows his (Ayushman Bharat) beneficiary card, he will get free treatment in Kolkata and even in Karachi," PM Modi said.

However, the prime minister quickly realised the error said corrected himself saying that his mind was preoccupied with Pakistan these days.

"Not Karachi but Kochi. Nowadays my mind is preoccupied with the thoughts of the neighbouring country," PM Modi said with a smile.

PM Modi also talked about the airstrike conducted by the IAF on the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Pakistan's Balakot and asked the crowd, "But that (airstrike in Pakistan) was also necessary. Should that be done or not?"

PM Modi also told the crowd that he would not hesitate to strike at the root of the "illness of terrorism" afflicting India.

He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a 750-bed annexe building of Guru Govind Singh Hospital in Jamnagar.

May be plans for Karachi were discussed with his military counsel before the rally.

Yeah, dude it could be a Freudian slip. I wouldn't put it past this retard. He's a true nut job and off the rails.

He can have the ideas but do you thing Indian Military leadership is so dumb to get carried away behind this fool. they know hat happened to them and what is waiting for them. they already regretting for becoming a tool of his political campaign.

I am wondering why and how a strange city name would even come on his tongue when that is not even the subject of discussion on hand? Unless that name was subject of some other obsessive discussion regarding a secondary missile attack. This slip of tongue confirms the Pakistan Intelligence report about the indian designs of attacking Pakistani civilian centers after the *** beating of IAF at the hands of PAF.
