Same people were responsible for downfall of most native Indian civilizations and creating their own. Wasn't it them who spread out in India and were responsible for civilizing most of the masses and ruling over them? Same people who came to be known as the Kshatriya for their invasive and ruling prowess. Or I'm missing something?
I think the big mistake is to think that people came directly from Ukrainian Pontic steppes to North-Western part of into gangetic plain in the span of a few years...When actually they stopped, settled down, mixed and again moved on over a period of 1,000 years...If we think of India-european intrusion into Indian subcontinent in 1500 BCE, that is around 800-1,000 years forward in time from the Yamnaya dispersal (the original chariot riding into European culture)
