What makes Latin America so violent is the multi billion dollar illegal drug industry and all the gangs involved in it
At the risk of sounding racist, I strongly believe violent behavior is coded in people's genetics. My personal observation and interaction with Latin American origin people tells me they are beyond redemption.
BD's GDP per capita is far lower than many of those Central/South American countries, and you'd think that would make BD more crime prone - yet our homicide rate is very low compared to most countries.
They are who they are not because of any drug or whatever other industry, but in fact those industries exist and thrive because of their 'capabilities'.
