This form of democracy has failed and it will result in civil war if continues. In last 8.5yrs, name me one institution that has not become the servant of the ruling elite of that time. Name me one key economic indicator that has improved (other than increase in debt, increase in poverty, increase in unemployment etc etc).

That's because the democracy was interrupted cue Musharraf. This democracy has picked up from where it has left off due to the courtesy of Musharraf. Before that, it was Zia-ul-Haq.

That's why we are going back and forth because democracy is not given continuous uninterrupted run. The system is bad only if it is govern by bad apple. Similarity, the system can be good only if the system is govern by the good apple.

With the continuous uninterrupted process of democracy, it is bound to unearth few potential political party that will govern Pakistan to the bright future. Even with corrupted PMLN, Pakistan has managed to revive economy into stable from the worst period of time due to the combination of Musharraf and Zardari in the last ten to 12 years.

So imagine the democracy under the good apple, it will be new Pakistan as we might witness and will witness, God Willing. That's why it is imperative that this term must complete its five years for the sake of stability and the future.

Otherwise, we are back to the zero starting from the scratch 10 years later after the nation manages to get rid of Marshall Law with great difficulty. Unfortunately, no one seem to understand what lies the bigger picture ahead.

True democracy system hasn't been given the long, continuing and uninterrupted process. Basically, it is installed by Army within the limitation prescribed has been implemented so far. Even then, democracy has been blocked-progress by Army quite constantly whether through the military takeover and the military breathing down the neck of democratic elected government, although originally installed by Army.

It is imperative that the democracy must be given long run. USA didn't built in one day. It took slowly gradual process to grip its firmly roots on the ground before started to yield fruitful result.

Holding dharna to hold cities and towns as hostage and then threatening to lockdown while making pathway for the military takeover is not exactly ideal receipt for sustaining the democracy. No wonder why democracy met its demise more than one occasion, never mind the fact the democracy is already tested with limitation to begin with.

No system can function properly while the elements are constantly breathing down on the neck of the system. Patience is the key to the survival of the democracy. After all, it is the only system that takes inputs from the civilians. That's why it is worth fighting for.
