Minister stresses quality in acquiring defence equipment

Rawalpindi—Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain visited Directorate General Defence Procurement (DGDP) as part of the visit of Defence Production Establishments. .

Federal Minister was received by DGDP Air Vice Marshal Asad Lodhi. All senior officers of DGDP were introduced to the Minister for Defence Production. The Minister was further received by Secretary Defence Production and Additional Secretary Defence Production prior to the briefing.

The Minister was briefed by Dy DGDP in detail about the working of Directorate General Defence Procurement. The composition of all Cells and Departments of DGDP were explained in detail to the Minister. Federal Minister took keen interest in the briefing and raised several questions to further improve and enhance the working of DGDP. The minister desired that the quality and transparency should be the key parameters while acquiring defence equipment.

The Minister was keen on making the process of hearing appeals more swift and transparent. He stressed that the procedures of procurement should be made hassle free. The Secretary added that all valuable suggestions and points raised by the Honorable Minister will be implemented soon

Argentina is negotiating joint production of JF-17 with China ..

I would refer that selling directly from PAC would be better and not just the JF-17 but also K-8 and Super Mushak too along with UAVs and even from NESCOM and GIDS...
