LAHORE: Minister for Minorities Kamran Michael will address the budget speech in the Punjab Assembly house on Friday, June 10 at 3.00 pm. The Chief Minister has issued the order in this regard.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, it stated that Kamran Michael had been reinstated as the Minister Finance in the Punjab cabinet.
Sharifs earlier decision to appoint Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman as the Finance Minister to present the budget was widely criticised as being insensitive to the minorities.
Michael, a Christian, had been given the additional charge as the Minister Finance and planning and development department in March of this year. However, growing discontent over his religious background within the party forced Sharif in to reliving the cabinets sole non-Muslim member of presenting the budget.
