Unless we Muslims don't take our lives seriously, then we can not progress in the worldhtml

will keep bringing this subject up because to me its the clearest indication of our flaw and why we are behind in the world. We have thousands of our people die in a religious event and not enough people care.

What happened to the investigation? Why isn't the official death count still updated? Why don't we have a clear breakdown of the deaths by nationality? Why are there still hundreds considered missing?

Here are some latest death counts,
Hajj Stampede 2015: Death Toll Of Nigerians Rises To 173
Hajj stampede: Bangladesh death toll climbs to 137 | The Daily Star
Ivory Coast declares hajj tragedy mourning as toll climbs to 52 - Yahoo News

Adding just these media death counts gives us a figure of more than 2000 deaths. Adding the missing count to this gives us an additional 1000 which means more than 3000 dead.

Please do not cast this aside as just an accident or God's will. This isn't even about Saudi, its about every Muslim country that needs to react instantly to even ONE of its citizens dying in another country, it needs to press for investigation, it needs to instantly be able to locate its dead, and so on. It shouldn't be 3 weeks and still having "missing"!

It is the responsibility of citizens to pressure their government.

just stop.

He is looking for hiring some exotic militants from Pakistan, otherwise they have well established mafia style network in Pakistan and its never a problem for them to appoint fighters at their service.

People died in stampede - when you have such a mass gathering things like that happens -specially if there are group of people who think they are holier than others and rules dont apply to them-

And they have the audacity to use JUST with the number of casualties and why the f do they blame Africans and Iranians for their incompetance?

.
Iranian must be imposed to an intensive course about going to holly Islamic places and performing Hajj before they get Hajj and Umrah visa. It's unfair all that people died because some people think obeying rules and instructions is unnecessary. Also, Saudi gov must reduce the number of visa given for Iranian until Iran starts a real step toward educate its people about religious events.

Foreign toll figures show hajj tragedy deadliest in history - Yahoo Maktoob News

The death toll from last month's hajj stampede has risen to at least 1,633, according to tallies given by foreign officials, making it the deadliest incident in the pilgrimage's history.

Saudi Arabia has yet to provide an updated death toll after saying that 769 Muslim pilgrims had died in the tragedy near Mecca. Saudi authorities have also not provided a breakdown by nationality.

Hundreds of pilgrims have also not been accounted for following the September 24 stampede at the hajj, one of the largest annual gatherings in the world.

But many foreign governments have provided numbers on pilgrims killed from their countries and an AFP tally shows the death toll has overtaken the 1,426 pilgrims who died in the hajj's worst previous incident -- a tunnel stampede in July 1990.

Here is a breakdown of the dead from foreign governments:

- Iran: 464 dead

- Egypt: 177 dead

- Nigeria: 145 dead

- Indonesia: 127 dead

- India: 101 dead

- Pakistan: 87 dead

- Bangladesh: 79

- Mali: 60 dead

- Senegal: 54 dead

- Chad: 52 dead

- Benin: 34 dead

- Morocco: 33 dead

- Ethiopia: 31 dead

- Sudan: 30 dead

- Algeria: 28 dead

- Niger: 28 dead

- Burkina Faso: 22 dead

- Cameroon: 20 dead

- Ivory Coast: 14 dead

- Libya: 10 dead

- Somalia: 8 dead

- Kenya: 6 dead

People died in stampede - when you have such a mass gathering things like that happens -specially if there are group of people who think they are holier than others and rules dont apply to them-

Living in SA has made you into a fatalist.

"thinks like that happens" is not a sufficient comment to make when 3000+ people die. When an earthquake happens in Japan, they don't say, "it's an earthquake, things like that happen, it's God's will, nothing to do", they actually intensively study it to reduce as many deaths as possible.

Let me explain this better. We'll look at natural disasters, something no one can be blamed for, so we don't have to look at it in a stupid sectarian way. Now, if you look at the list of the deadliest natural disasters, again and again you find the least developed countries facing the highest causalities. In 2010, an earthquake in Haiti killed an estimate of 300,000 people! The magnitude of the earthquake was 7, high, but not extremely high. The other deadly earthquakes in last 20 years has been Pakistan in 2005 with 100,000 dead and China in 2008 with 87,587.

It's the same with other natural disasters. A category 5 (highest category) Hurricane in USA, called Katrina, killed 1,836 people in 2005. In the same year, a category 1 (lowest category) Hurricane in Mexico called Stan killed 1,668 people!

So saying, "things like that happen" is one of the most useless mentalities some of our people have, and it needs to be completely erased or our mind.

And the thing is that these stampeds couldve been prevented if there was better planning but no bombing innocents in Yemen is more important than planning for Haj

Muslims will keep going on Hajj to fill the Saudi leader's pockets with money, and they will keep dying to please their god Allah.

Muslims will keep going on Hajj to fill the Saudi leader's pockets with money, and they will keep dying to please their god Allah.

This is not about Hajj to me. This is about Islamic countries being able to care more about their citizens and initiate change that ensures a better life for everyone. This is just the biggest and more clear example. The solution to a car accident isn't "don't ride a car!" and a solution to a drowning isn't "don't ever swim!". The solution to all our problems should start with,

1. What happened?
2. What were the underlining problems?
3. What decisions can be made to prevent this from happening?

Unfortunately, we are still stuck at the first stage. What happened? NOTHING. IT WAS GOD'S WILL. BE QUIET, BE QUIET, SSSH, LOOK OVER THERE, SOMEONE IN THE WEST IS SAYING SOMETHING MEAN ABOUT PROPHET MOHAMMAD, EVERYONE PROTEST NOW AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

how sad is that a lot of poor people (low income people) save some money to go for the pilgrimage, only to meet their demise in the hands of the irresponsibles. this always happened every year, and even though i'm not a muslim, i feel for my countrymen. too bad this isn't a thread about how our Domestic workers were abused and beheaded in there. our govt really needs to sever diplomatic ties with them.
