I remember hearing that churchill wanted to attack USSR after world war 2 but the americans said no.

That's because Britain and the Allies were hand in hand with the Soviets way before Germany even invaded Poland.

Wasn't at first US supplied weapons to both sides or was it just transportation equipment.

Nope, only the Allies were supplied weapons and transportation equipment through the Lend Lease act. Its funny how the then American government claimed to have a neutral stance while at the same time it provided Britain and Soviets vast amounts of weaponry and supplies.

Russia was at first with the Germans but after the German double crossed they went on the offensive.

Russia was never with the Germans even during the invasion of Poland, Stalin by nature was a professional back stabber and Hitler knowing that Stalin brutally murdered most of his closest advisors as well as officers of the Red army didn't trust Stalin even a bit, also Stalin was cooperating with the British under the tables.

Finland's sympathies were with the Allies but was forced to join the Axis side because of Russia's invasion. After signing a treaty with the Russians she had to fight the Germans off her territory
