PESHAWAR: A militant commander was killed while three of his accomplices escaped after an encounter with police on Tuesday in Mashoo Gagar, on the outskirts of the district, police informed.
Militant commander, identified as Umer along with his three accomplices were travelling in a taxi cab when police signalled the car to stop at Mashoo Gagar check post. The militants in a bid to escape started firing on police and an encounter started between the militants and police.
During heavy cross-fire, militant commander Umer was killed while his three accomplices managed to escape. Police after cordoning off the area arrested three suspects and interrogation was underway from them.
