Islamabad Met Office has announced bad news for everyone, not just Islamabadis – we may not be seeing Spring season in Pakistan in the coming years.

Global warming comes with a lot of dangerous and hazardous effects, most of them will be experienced by people living in the equatorial belt including Pakistan. The Met Office at Islamabad has issued a warning about the levels of pollution harming the country’s seasonal changes, weather, and climate.

Consistent Heat Waves
As it is, Pakistan has been experiencing rising temperatures for some time now and the heat waves in recent years in some of the hottest months of the year are proof of that.

Even though the mornings are pleasant right now, the Met Office has recorded temperatures going up to 25°C and March has just started. The Met Office has also warned people to gear up for harsher weather in the coming months.

The officials are most concerned and astonished by the fact that a 0.8°C rise in temperature was recorded in a single year. Pakistan hasn’t faced such a drastic change in temperature in the past century, let alone a single year.

Pakistan Facing The Worst of Climate Change
This has serious implications not only for the existence of the spring season but also generally regarding the ecosystem and the agricultural pattern of the country. More droughts and failed crops should be expected by farmers in the coming years as well and the government should be preparing for a fall in the supply of food crops.

The floods experienced during the monsoon season have also been occurring every year since 2010. This alone should be a major warning for the government and Pakistanis in general.

Pakistan is also expected to run out of water by 2025, this is also due to climate change.

Many reasons were cited as to why we will run out of water. Deforestation was among them.

An agro based economy. What practical step have been taken to prevent illegal logging of and building more forest or rehabilitating the old ones

You chaps need to invest more in wind, solar and nuclear. You've got 100+ 'atum bums'. Don't think there is need for more. Focus your nuclear power plants towards energy creation. Clean energy is only way to ensure mankind survives another century.

There are many renewable energy projects are on-going in homeland, some are completed and producing aswell. Also we are eager to increase our N-BOMBS to keep you guys awake.

Islamabad is hostage to crush machines all around the city in Margala hold. Most of the dust in the city comes from these rick crushers . Should be banned or made to contain their dust.

Yes, we must try to transform Pakistan into a very rich, very prosperous and welfare state like Bharat. :cheesy:

Don't know about that.. maybe this will help. We are doing our bit, more than our bit actually. Being a smart Alek is all very fine, but its better if you walk the talk.

India unveils the world's largest solar power plant

Images have been released showing the sheer size of a new solar power plant in southern India.

The facility in Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu, has a capacity of 648 MW and covers an area of 10 sq km.

This makes it the largest solar power plant at a single location, taking the title from the Topaz Solar Farm in California, which has a capacity of 550 MW.

The solar plant, built in an impressive eight months and funded by the Adani Group, is cleaned every day by a robotic system, charged by its own solar panels.

Inside Story - Solar power - bright future?

At full capacity, it is estimated to produce enough electricity to power about 150,000 homes.

The project is comprised of 2.5 million individual solar modules, and cost $679m to build.

The new plant has helped nudge India's total installed solar capacity across the 10 GW mark, according to a statement by research firm Bridge to India, joining only a handful of countries that can make this claim.

As solar power increases, India is expected to become the world's third-biggest solar market from next year onwards, after China and the US.

Despite the fast-growing solar power industry, India will still need to increase its take-up of solar panels if it is to achieve the ambitious targets set by the government.

By 2022, India aims to power 60 million homes by the sun. It is part of the government's goal to produce 40 percent of its power from non-fossil fuels by 2030.

This aim has been praised by environmental groups and is hoped will also help reduce the country's problem with air quality. At the beginning of this month, the pollution level in the capital New Delhi reached its worst levels in 17 years.

Despite this report you guys are looking for coal power plants while the whole world is moving on to renewable or green energy sources. Something you guys need to look into.

Diversification of the power generation mix is a must for any country. Our contribution from coal fired power plants is currently negligble, in contrast to you guys have been using it for years and polluting the wider neighborhood.

Deforestation is our big problem, which the authorities are aware of. KPK government has very admirably launched a reforestation programme, http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/...llion-tree-reforestation-150430135404923.html. Te Federal government has also announced its own reforestation programme.

Pakistan still has one of the lowest mortality rates due to air pollution in the region (see below), but things are far from good.

Mortality rate attributed to household and ambient air pollution (per 100 000 population)

India = 130
Sri Lanka = 119.4
Afghanistan = 112.6
Pakistan = 88.8

But , We need more coal based powr plants to keep the watts and stakes high :flame:
