MUZAFFARABAD (AJK): The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan has lauded the services of Pakistan’s first ISSN-certified multilingual independent daily E-Newspaper, ‘Pakistan Times’ for its zestful commitment to project the Kashmir cause – around the globe – in a pragmatic way.

Through a message to the Editor-in-Chief of the E-daily, Mumtaz Hamid Rao – on the 6th birthday of TIMES Group of Publications , which publishes the globally acclaimed E-daily [Web: http://www.PakistanTimes.net] the AJK Premier has specifically felt delight over the continuous and uninterrupted publication of ‘Pakistan Times’ by expressing the hope that the media endeavours – set off by ‘Pakistan Times’ team – shall thrive still more in the times to come.

Text of Message

Mr. Mumtaz Hamid Rao
Editor-in-Chief, Pakistan Times'

"I am pleased to know that the electronic-Daily ‘Pakistan Times’ is entering the 6th consecutive year of its publication. It is a good progress.

In the mass media the continuity counts a lot. Ceaseless publications sustain the strength of readers.

"Ours is the age of media explosion. Media has the inherent strength to make or unmake. I am fully conscious of it.

Therefore I appreciate your media endeavours. Our media-seeking cause is Kashmir.

Kashmiris are fighting their just cause for past over sixty years. Justice demands that their voice should be made hearable by the media at all levels.

I hope that your Daily will continue making good contribution towards this cause.

"I congratulate the editorial and the executive staff of your Daily on completing six years of publication".

Yours Sincerely,
Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan
Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir

Webby,
Is it true that "There is no locally-based news agency in Azad Kashmir Territory", i mean published within the AJK territory ?

And if one wish to publish bewspapers/books ,In that case, the publisher would have to sign the declaration of support to accession to Pakistan which is something like "“I will remain loyal to the country and the cause of accession of the state of Jammu & Kashmir to Pakistan"?

If the above mentioned is true then how come is the Territory referred as Azad Jammu and Kasmir ?

Or have the things changed lately there ?

Note: The oath is based on Article7(2) of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Interim Constitution Act of 1974, and in addition to holding political office or being appointed to a government job, the submission of a signed declaration to the same effect is required in order to publish books or periodicals

"“I will remain loyal to the country and the cause of accession of the state of Jammu & Kashmir to Pakistan"--

In every part of the world, you have to remain loyal to the country your from. United States, UK, etc..

I understand what you mean Webby and why JKLF and some other groups were barred from contesting elections since they did not support Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan.

Could you or anyone else here please answer my Initial question if "There is any locally-based news agency in Azad Kashmir Territory", i mean published within the AJK territory" ?

Thanks in Advance.
