Mehreen Jabbar – the name behind the famous dramas that highlight women empowerment is all geared up to return to television.
Explaining her comeback, she said; “Dobara Phir Se released in November last year and it consumed two years of my life. Usually, especially in Pakistan, you can’t jump into one film project after another. So I wanted to take a break and get back to where I started from.”
Mehreen has taken over the director’s chair with not one, but two untitled television-films that are slated to see the light on Eid-ul-Fitr.
“For Eid telefilms, one looks at something that is entertaining, that is able to amuse people and make them laugh. I wanted to do something light-hearted and fun,” she shared. “However, they both have very different natures obviously, because both the writers have their own distinct style. Also I wanted to get back to something that is relatively shorter compared to landing a long TV series immediately.”
Apart from her telefilms, Jabbar is also in the process of finalizing two television serials for this year only, while she plans to return to the cinemas next year.
