The process required a strong and heavy fighter and a special launch pod for the Patriot, and of course the new F-15 radar with its powerful capabilities that allow all monitoring and tracking tasks quickly and transfer that data to the Patriot.
This wondrous combination allows for the interception of a ballistic missile in the launch stage or even a Boost-phase intercept & Termial-phase intercept.
The pod can be installed on the F-35 stealth aircraft, as it has formidable radar and thermo-optical detection systems that allow ballistic missile launches to be silently monitored and tracked from great distances.
Lockheed Martin has also proposed launching the air-launched PAC-3 missile for use in other aircrafts, such as the F-22 Raptor and P-8A Poseidon.
