That was great and should be recognized, but what we are today? that is what matters.

That's the issue.

Progress is a cultural phenomenon and cultures are not static. They have their heydey and then go into decline.

Sumerians, Egyptians, Cambodians, Mayans, Chinese, Indians, Turks, Persians, Arabs, Romans, Greeks, Europeans, Americans etc. made significant contributions and most went into decline.

Some are reasserting themselves. The same thing needs to happen to Muslims and it takes hard work. Nothing comes for free.

But wasnt the OP lumping together all Egyptian/Arabic/Moorish/Persian as "Islamic" achievements.

I think it was more in response to the current global tendency to lump all Muslims together.
