:rofl::rofl: McCain called Mr 10% "Ghaddari" instead of Zaddari

Atleast he got that right

We all know that whenever a Democratic administration comes, Pakistan American relations suffer. The Democrats have traditionally been known as not very pro Pakistan, and the Republican Presidents have often been responsible for the good relations between the two countries. A reason that comes to mind is the strong military tradition of some Republican party members, as the military has always been seen as favourable to Pakistan. Pakistan American military links were exempilary until the late 80's, ever since the days of Eisenhower. We must also not forget the strong jewish lobby which has much influence in the Democratic Pary, moreso than even the Republican Party.

I pray for Pakistan that the Democrats lose, even though Barack Obama seems a nice enough chap.

I hope so, obama might turn out to be worse than bush.

Then if the republicans win McCain dosen't know what he is talking abt...

Both are anti Pakistan. While one is calling it a failed state the other is talking about taking targets out inside Pakistan. The question is what are we going to do about it? Just wait and watch until a B-2 comes and bombs us back to stone age or actually do something about it.

Any suggstions? It seems to revolve around Talib/AQ in Pak territory - at least for now.

Something has to change, It does not seem to be Obama and McCain, it's also China and Russia and EU.

We do not have a magic wand to completely wipe AQ/tailban out with one switch. Its going to take some time, however point is how are we going to convince the americans that we are already doing enough, it seems they are not willing to listen and the only way i see it is to make them hear us, the same way we did when Kayani vowed to defend pakistan territory at all cost. The GOP should now step up to the occasion and instead of countering the strong words delivered by the army, infact should back them up, so that the outside forces dont see a divide between the two pillars of Pakistan.

Palin Contradicts McCain On Pakistan, Seems To Back Obama’s Position

From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(PHILADELPHIA) Sarah Palin told a customer at a Philadelphia restaurant on Saturday that the United States should “absolutely” launch cross-border attacks from Afghanistan into Pakistan in the event that it becomes necessary to “stop the terrorists from coming any further in,” a comment similar to the one John McCain condemned Barack Obama for making during last night’s presidential debate.

During Friday’s debate, Obama criticized the Bush administration for sending billions of dollars in aid to Pakistan without ridding the border region of terrorists.

“If the United States has al Qaeda, bin Laden, top-level lieutenants in our sights, and Pakistan is unable or unwilling to act, then we should take them out,” Obama added.

McCain fired back hard, arguing that newly elected Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari has had his “hands full” and suggesting that Obama’s tough talk was naïve.

“You don’t say that out loud,” McCain said. “If you have to do things, you have to do things, and you work with the Pakistani government.”

Palin’s apparent disagreement with McCain’s position on Pakistan came as the Alaska governor was picking up a couple of cheesesteaks at Tony Luke’s in South Philadelphia. She was approached by a man wearing a Temple University t-shirt, who later identified himself as Michael Rovito.

“How about the Pakistan situation?” Rovito asked. “What’s your thoughts about that.”

“In Pakistan?” Palin responded.

“What’s going on over there, like Waziristian?”

“It’s working with Zardari to make sure that we’re all working together to stop the guys from coming in over the border,” Palin said. “And we’ll go from there.”

“Waziristan is blowing up,” Rovito replied.

“Yeah, it is,” Palin said. “And the economy there is blowing up, too.”

“So we do cross-border, like from Afghanistan to Pakistan, you think?” Rovito asked.

“If that’s what we have to do stop the terrorists from coming any further in, absolutely, we should,” Palin said.

In her first national television interview after becoming the Republican vice presidential nominee, Palin was pressed by ABC’s Charlie Gibson on whether the U.S. should launch cross-border attacks into Pakistan. She said that the United States “must do whatever it takes” to thwart Islamic extremists and said, “America has to exercise all options in order to stop the terrorists who are hell bent on destroying America and our allies.”

But Palin did not, at that time, explicitly express her support for cross-border attacks, as she did at the Philadelphia restaurant on Saturday.

Perhaps the US at this point is more bark than bite - in any case for Pakistan to influence events, it must have control - that is something it does not at present have, neither of it's territory and neither of those who are supposed to be it's dogs.

No he is not dude. He said Pakistan was a failed state before Musharraf, and I kind of agree, with Nawaz Sharif AKA Amir-ul-Momineen incharge what else did you expect?

McCain made a reasonably good case for Pakistan and completely sounds like a guy who knows what he is talking about. He has visited Waziristan, which obviously means he has had interactions with the Pakistan Army and knows the troubles we are facing there.

Obama thinks he was so right by voting against the war in Iraq but he will end up making a MUCH bigger blunder by attacking a 180 million populated nuclear armed muslim country. Then their War on Terror in Afghanistan will SURELY go to hell.

Hi Friends,

It doesn't really matter who wins the game here. All it matters is what kind of policy shift takes place for the countries that are engaged in different forms with USA is al that counts. For Pakistan - most pressing issue right now is elimination /reduction of security threat viewed by countries allover the world. Secondly stabilize the law and order before unruly elements take reins of the civil administration. Possibly the situation has become far too critical to do mud-slinging in the name of anti-so and so country propaganda. The responsbility of keeping our home (country here) is primarily our first duty before we discuss larger issues facing the world. If my home is not in order who do I blame? My neighbourer or my enemy, or my fair weather friends?None. Let me be the head and act like a head of my family when my home needs to be set right. All that matters I be composed and help myself in every way to set my house right before I can takeon higher duties/challenges. Need of the hour is to set our priorities right. If I keep harping on blame game, I could sure be the victim from start to end wthout any tangible improvements in my life and my home. I hope the message is clear for us which is infront of us.
May God bless all of us with peace and prosperity!!!
