MBDA MICA Missiles for JF17 Thunder potential possibility

The MBDA MICA (Missile d’interception et de combat aérien, “Interception and Aerial Combat Missile”) is an anti-air multi-target, all weather, fire-and-forget short and medium-range missile system. It is intended for use both by air platforms as individual missiles as well as ground units and ships, which can be equipped with the rapid fire MICA Vertical Launch System. It is fitted with a thrust vector control (TVC) system.

Used on Rafael and Mirage 2000

Depending on the variant, MICA is guided to its target by either an active radar homing seeker (MICA RF, also commonly known as MICA EM) or an imaging infra-red homing seeker (MICA IR). Both seekers are designed to filter out counter-measures such as chaff and decoy flares. A thrust vector control unit fitted to the rocket motor increases the missile's agility. MICA is designed to be capable of "lock-on after launch," meaning the missile can be launched at targets which its seeker can not yet detect.

yup ur right,even i play WINGS OVER EUROPE some time,fly F-15 chose a target and fire aim-7f sparrow and forget about it.lol:

Its wonderful , that we can have options and variety in our JF17 thunder , so we can mix and match our fleet , I think its bold move to move forward with China & France

As they have been quite reliable allies for Pakistan

The missiles will offer us something extra in our arsenal to deter big bulky SUV enemy crafts

Provided we can arm our fighters with top notch missiles and mix and match we will be better capable to protect our country

The wonderful thing about it is that , the platform can be used at sea & groud and air missions.

Include , French Avionics , AESA Radar , SD-10 , Mica , T-Darter and Thunder will become a Mini Rafale.

Its good to have three types of BVR's i.e SD-10,Aim-120c5 and french one if one will lack in performance the others will make it up its always good to have multiple goodies , u can effectively target the enemy

But as far as the range is concerned that one has advantage over other n stuff i thnk with the current radar of jf-17 which is believe to have effective range of ~100km u cant expect jf-17 to utilize any missile upto 80-90 km not beyond that as its radar can detect aircraft within 100km of range yeah but in the case of new radar with more range it will b another story

now the notable thing is look at the above posted pic of SD-10u will see a designation written on it is SD-10A,it clearly means that the SD-10Bis also present here somewhere in testing phase or round about there and surely it will have greater range and efficiency,
