Maulana Abduz Aziz released

lol.

So according to the "free" CJ, a person who has a pending trial for murder and treason should be released on bail?

Pakistan Zindabad! :pakistan::yahoo:
As DarkStar has mentioned, his case was not heard by the CJ. Any Pakistani (including you) can however, appeal to re-consider the decision.

As DarkStar has mentioned, this bail is going to send very bad signals, and you are not alone, we are also as much worried.

listen, The CJ was not hearing this case. And senior judges hardly order juniors to decide according to their whims. Pakistan is not a Banana Republic!

Yeah right. Why wasn't he released on bail during the Dogar tenure? why did those clown wooklas kept demanding his release during the "Freedom" rallies?

Do you have any knowledge of the machinations of the Pakistani judiciary?

I have, since two of my close relatives are a sessions and a high court judge.

Trust me, they do not take dictation from the CJ. It is considered extremely unethical, and that's not how things work.

Sometimes a judge can be taken off a specific case, for certain reasons, but that is another matter.

I believe it is a monumental failure of the police and prosecution, who should have had irrefutable evidence in support of the FIR.

I know how easy it is for a good lawyer to pick apart cases in Pakistan. Police not following protocol, witnesses not showing up, statements gone missing, not following laid down procedures, confessions under duress later recanted in court, complete files and evidence gone disappeared, the works.

It's a sad indictment.

As I have mentioned earlier, he is bailed on children library case. It appears either there were no other cases against him, or he already had bail in those cases. If that is true, you should blame the Dogar-Raj judiciary not the present one. His wife who was also an accomplice was also released during the Dogar Raj.

This issue can be discussed as effectively without being sarcastic.

Sir, do you know which institution is labelled as the most corrupt in Pakistan by Transparency International?

A person who incite the messes to raise against the govt, hijack Islamabd so many weeks or month. Even stick wielding ladies jahadies made working women of Islamabad life miserable( i personally know one case, a friends sister works in UN program, early morning stopped her car smash all her cds and told her not to drive its harm or wear burqa or better stay home SISTER). Now what else left. All loser gather and want to put halt, those who want to progress. If they are so much interested in living caves then govt send them some where in Africa. Even over their they will make animals life miserable.

What is odd is the fact that the authourities haven't produced more cases against them if they believe that Maulana Abdul Aziz is guilty then they should prove it by moving him to high security prisons and briniging conclusive evidence agianst him it is dissappointing to here that our government spent so much money on an operation just to leave us with inconclusive ends and a free criminal if he was one, another addition to the Musharraf days in the wrong points and yet people on the forum believe he was the best option for Pakistan.

Pakistani judiciary is not corrupt, no matter what a foreign NGO says. The bad apples would be less than 10 percent, and most of them are in the Chhoti Jajji, that is civil judges/judicial magistrates, who are at the bottom of the ladder.

Surprisingly, after so much mess been done in Islamabad by these two brothers, still looking for guilty or not guilty. Why running a madrassa right in middle of capitol, where they have no control over their students, because Islam say so?

Indeed they did but as the courts and the people weren't shown enough evidence to stop him from having bail lets hope they show enough evidence for the prosecution.

its really strange how quickly state`s & people`s perception changed time to time. villains of past days becomes heroes suddenly. its a big confusion.

One has to ask what is the mindset of your Chief Justice. Is he trying to get back at Musharraf by undoing everything that Musharraf did that he can? I think he (the CJ) is unbalanced. There is no reason that he could not have asked for more evidence and given the prosecution more time to provide a case against Aziz. He is no better that Zardari. Another selfish person who is not thinking about his country first.

Well he has been granted bail I don't know alot aout the American justice system but over here that doesn't mean not guilty so lets hope the governement comes up with conclusive evidence and then see where things head.

BBC Radio is generally very, very objective, even in tone.

However, last night the newsreader said something on these lines "Pakistan has just received $5 billion in aid in order to fight terrorism, and shockingly, an extremist cleric was released from prison, who immediately went back to the Red Mosque and promised sharia across the country."

Nothing pathbreaking there, but for the first time I sensed anger and contempt in the voice of a BBC Radio anchor.
