MASSIVE CORRUPTION UNEARTHED AT DHA KARACHI

It is disclosed by an authentic insider source that DHA Karachi has broken all records of corruption just in the last 6 months or so and hastily acquired and allotted land worth billions of rupees arbitrarily in which kickbacks to the tune of 100s of billions of rupees were received.

Corruption is rampant in DHA for such projects as discussed below and the officers are minting money in billions illegally and unlawfully and the general public is kept in dark due to the strict organization and tough secrecy measures inside the organization.

600 Acres of land- Massive Corruption

That recently 600 acres of land was purchased from a private party illegally and secretly. For this firstly a payment of 300 acres was made to the owner out of which 25% of the payment amount was kickbacks/commission. For further 300 hundred acres all records of corruption were broken and a deal was executed in which DHA will develop and return 120 acres of DHA land to the owner and will retain 180 acres.

Imagine that in DHA Karachi where a residential plot of 1000 sqyds is worth 7-8 crore and commercial plot with high rise permission worth a billion rupee, the DHA has given 120 acres of developed land (58,000/- sqyds) to the owner without any charge on which there will be high rise commercial and residential plots worth over 100 billion rupees at current market rates.

It has also disclosed from reliable sources that DHA official were given open files of many prime commercial plots in the above said 120 acres of land by the owner as kick back.

That this 600 acres of land purchased by the DHA to be made part of the main DHA under its water front development scheme washardly worth few million rupees before the deal as it is not at all developed and is part of Ibrahim Hyderi with no approach from DHA and is environmentally protectedbeing full of mangroves and hence no construction under ordinary circumstances can be undertaken there. Such a plot is acquired for an unimaginable price.

That DHA has also planned some overhead bridges to connect to this 600 acres of land in question which shows its hypocrisy towards welfare of the people as recently in a Suit bearing No. 538/2014 and filed by DHA before High Court of Sind. Here DHA acquired restraining order against construction of an overhead bridge being built by Bahria town from its own money by labelling it as an environmental hazard.

40 acres of illegally reclaimed land in MARINA AREA is now being allotted illegally.

Other than this DHA illegally reclaimed 40 acres of land starting from Marina club/area51 and ending at Glof club along the water bed in the form of a strip (commonly known as marina area). This 40 acres is now divided into commercial and residential plots of half acres, 1 acre and less for construction of high rise buildings. Hundreds of people have already received allotment letters which they are selling for 40-50 crore each. How this is happening so fast is a myster. Reclamation of land is illegal and this land is also not a part of the master plan of DHA.

8.5 acres of land allotted arbitrarily and construction started.

DHA has also allotted 8.5 acres of sea front land worth billions of rupees without any price to a private developer/builder in Phase VIII DHA. This deal was labelled joint venture where DHA will get nothing as a partner. Most precious land was allotted to the private developer for illegal personal gains.The said developer/builder started the construction/development on the very next day of the allotment and has also constructed site office.

The future of these plots and the innocent people to whom the properties/plots within these projects are being sold hastily without proper disclosure is bleak. What is certain is that in future it will become a big catastrophe for DHA and will be a big blow to the institutions credibility.

But who gets to decide who disappears and on what basis? That is precisely we have the rule of law, not arbitrary punishments meted out without due process. It is the mark of a civilized society.

I am not in support of it but I dont mind uttering it in anger....esp when you see the corrupt walking away with the wages of the poor!
