Union Government of India - Ministry of Defence - Secretary has Released the Data of Union of India - Citizens in Jurisdiction of other Establishments - Prisons who had Sought to be Transfer to Union of India - Ministry of Law & Justice - Department of Judiciary - Central Prisons since 2015 but only Union of India - 17 Citizens in Jurisdiction of other Establishments - Prisons Transfer to Union of India were Successful.

According to the Statistics Provided by the Ministry of Defence after Getting Clearance from Indian Armed Forces - Department of Military Affairs - Office.

Out of Union of India - 17 Citizens in Jurisdiction of other Establishments - Prisons Transfer to Union of India; Maximum Number of Transfers was from the United Kingdom with Union of India - 10 Citizens in Jurisdiction of United Kingdom Under the 2003, Repatriation of Prisoners Act - Bilateral Agreement between United Kingdom - All Territories & Union of India's Establishment.

Besides the Transfers of Union of India - 17 Citizens in Jurisdiction of other Establishments - Prisons Transfer to Union of India; Union of India - 11 Citizens - Prisoners Abroad were Released by the Countries where they have been Serving Sentence; Union of India - 5 Citizens withdrew their Request for Transfer and Union of India - 4 Citizens Cases of Transfer were Not Approved by the Appropriate Governments.

Transfer of Sentenced Persons involves Several Stages of Processing, Namely Obtaining the Consent of the Transferring Country, Availability of Complete Documentation Necessary for Processing the Request, Comments of the Union of India - State Administration - Home Affairs and Identification of the Specific Prison where the Prisoner will be Lodged on Transfer to Union of India, Making Escort Arrangements of the Prisoner by the Union of India - State Administration Concerned from the Foreign Country to Union of India and Clearance from Indian Armed Forces - Department of Military Affairs - Intelligence Agencies.

"All These Factors are Relevant while Processing a Request for Transfer. Therefore, for the Remaining Cases, No Fixed Timeline Can be Provided as the Fulfilment of the Requirement of Complete Documentation and Other Formalities are Dependent on Foreign Establishment, Union of India's Establishment - Ministry of Defence & Union of India - State Administration and Other Relevant Union of India - State Administration - Security Authorities."

Among the 70 Applications, the Highest of 19 came from Kingdom of Kuwait followed by 14 came from the United Kingdom, Nine from Republic of Maldives and Five Each from Republic of Mauritius, Kingdom of Sri Lanka and the United States of America.

Transfer of Prisoners Could be Managed only from Three Countries -- United Kingdom, Kingdom of Sri Lanka and Republic of Mauritius. Kingdom of Sri Lanka has Transferred three Prisoners while Republic of Mauritius has Released Four.

Not a Single Person could be Transferred from Kingdom of Kuwait, which has Received the Highest Number of Applications from Union of India - Citizens in the Prisons there.
