Manufacturing Companies Considering Moving Jobs Back To U.S. From China, Su

I am not happy manufacturing industries going back to US.

If they would be moving to India, Vietnam, Pakistan, I would have been happy.

Yeah but you should know that Apple is the most lecherous tech company that I've seen till now, they are so much worse than M$ of the 90's that its unimaginable why people buy their grossly overpriced malfunctioning cr@p ?

I hate Apple but I love iPhone and iPad this is almost every apple user thinks. It's the device not the company. If Samsung make anything like this (please don't say galaxy series ) I will buy it. It's about the iOS and hardware quality. Samsung and Nokia is no where near

C'mon you can't be serious, besides their unibody aluminium(is it ?) shell all their tech specs are inferior to the competition & mind you if you're gonna compare an Iphone then S2 & Galaxy note is the real competition in that price bracket & they're definitely better to cr@pple btw it pretty much depends on individual preferences that's all.

So india are happy for USA, or for that a company leave china??
What I want to said is that, If USA can manufacture the goods in low cost by using Robot, where is the chance!!
There are no much time for indian, we too, But is our situation worse than yours? Many times, I can't understand Indian, I don't know what are them happy for?? for me, the indian in the forum, they maybe all are high caste, they needn't worry about their life.

Why the sour grapes man ? Can't you guys move beyond these rants about the caste system in IND ? FYI what I want personally is that mega corps like Apple/Exxon/Vodafone/Citi/VW should not be allowed to have their way & make trillions in profit uninhibited ! You as a CN citizen should demand that Foxconn & the likes raise their workers pay, so get off you high horse to do something in this regard !

We will be only happy if Apple moves to India.

hahaaha I know. I used to think like that too :) you have never used it. Use it for 2 weeks and then say the same thing :)
I had argument with a friend over N96 vs iPhone 2g. He failed to convince me so he gave me his 2g to use for 2 weeks. I accepted what he said after 2 weeks. So it's experience you can't explain it.
You are right on personal opinion though. Some people don't like it even hate it.

But of course you will, the real question is whether you wanna move up the value chain & create something truly unique or just be content with RE stuff ?

Why not have both?

What innovation can small companies do? Lets get real here, to innovate you need millions. If you want to design a new semiconductor process, you need to have at least a lab scale setup. That would be in the millions. You'll need testing equipment like X-ray tomography, neutron scattering, SEM, AFM, not to mention all sorts of electrical testing equipment.

So as a products user, not only Indian's will happies for USA. "Made in U.S.A" always reliable more than "Made in China" or latest RE-NAMED as "Made in PRC".

My two cents.

There are more to lower manufacturing cost than simply a low-wage; you need an infrastructure to import materials, ship out finished product, banking and legal services too.

This is the reason why many foreign manufacturers who plan to exit China are planning to return home instead of going to another 3rd world country like India and Vietnam, because these countries lack the infrastructure to support a manufacturing industry. The factories that move to India and Vietnam are for simple products and stuff like clothing that require little infrastructure support. Accordingly, India and Vietnam must build their infrastructure if they want to host foreign manufacturers.

Another thing is the government administrative support. Chinese provincial governments court large foreign manufacturers aggressively and provide a one-stop administrative service for foreign investors. In other word, a dedicated handler whom you can talk to at the provincial government level to discuss your needs and any regulations. No such administrative support exists in India and Vietnam.

The bad news for medium to high end manufacturers in China is that they have nowhere else to go that provides a comparable business environment as China does, so they have to stay put even if the wage rises until you decided that you can get a comparable cost back home. On the other hand, low-end manufacturers are fleeing China en mass.

To those who have seen "Loose Change 2nd", it would not be hard for them to believed that 911 was directed by the US itself. but the movie failed to illustrate why! 10-20$ billion (gold, bond etc.) is not a good excuse for such a messive operation. So why not tried to figure out this in a larger picture, global politics (or should I say global economics).

After 911, US attacked Afghanistan and Iraq, as a result, the oil price shoot up from 25$ to 150$. (This will impose a direct impact on transportation cost, considering goods have to be ship to half a globe away, this is not a small amount of money)

After the oil price is shoot up, bio fuel became profitable the more and more land and crops were use to "grow" oil.(so food price increased almost as much as oil price)

unlike the developed countries, developing countries' citizen spend quite a large amount of their salary on food. so as the CPI increased, they need to earn more (mostly from increased salary).

combining all these, I begin to realized what was said in the begining "Loose Change": need a drastic change to save "America". I assume the "America" here means American economy or American manufactoring industry. If Obama said US manufactory industry will be revived, in 2001, many will take it as a joke. but now, in 2011, it seems to be possilbe.

of course, all there are big guess untill 20 or 30 years later when classified offical documents became available.until than, most of us dont know what was happened indeed.

one step closer to what I have said in 2011
