“MOM (Mars Orbiter Mission) has completed 90 per cent of its journey towards the red planet” the press release said.

ISRO also stated that Mangalyaan will complete the remaining 10 percent of its journey towards the red planet in about four weeks’ time.

The success of India’s mars Orbiter Mission which is the biggest space odyssey of the nation will bring a new recognition for India.

It will also make India join the big league comprising of nations like US, Russia, European Union, Japan and China. India with its ambitious space projects is already giving big fight to these nations.

It is worth noting that India’s mars Orbiter Mission, which costs nation USD 75 million, is among the most economic mission in the history of space exploration.

ISRO said that the next difficult task for Mangalyaan will be restarting onboard liquid engine which has been in a sleep mode for nearly ten months.

Mangalyaan which was launched on 5 November 2013 has travelled some 680 million km.
