do you know that Baloch People also migrated in to Gujarat in significant Numbers ? these baloch people are divided in to many Sub Castes. and one of the main caste is Makrani Baloch.

history says that these Baloch are descendents of Baluchs who were brought to Saurashtra as mercenaries by various Islamic Kingdoms. They are still distributed in the former princely states of Kathiawar. These Baluch soldiers came from the Makran region of Baluchistan. They now speak Gujarati, while some Makrani also of have knowledge of Urdu. They are one of three communities found in Gujarat, that claim to have originated in Baluchistan. The Makrani are now distinct from the Sulaymani Baloch, another community of Baloch found in Gujarat. While in Pakistan, the term Makrani in Pakistan tends to be used as synonym for Siddi, the Gujarat Makrani also have no connection with the Siddi community, as they are ethnic Baloch with no historic connection with Africa.

The Makrani are sub-divided into a number of clans, the main ones being the Askani, Baluch, Umarzai, Rind-Baluch, Mulkajee and Gudizai. All of them enjoy equal status, and there is no system of gotra exogamy. Many Makrani are still employed by the state police, while others are mainly farmers. The Makrani Jamat, their caste association is extremely active in community affairs.

these people are mostly concentrated in Junagadh/sorath Region of Kathiyawad.

On youtube I saw video of UK Gujarati Baloch married to Pakistani. People assume Makrani baloch to be decedents of african but that's not the case. Coastal region of Balochistan is known as Makran and that's were Makrani baloch live.

Due to their involvement and sympathies with Baluch insurgency in Pakistan , Indians are increasingly curious and eager to know more about Baluchs and their descendants in India. There were two main concentrations of Baluchs in India. The Baluchs in Gujarat are descendants of soldiers of fortunes tied with Babi Nawabs of Gujarat. There were also small but formidable Baluch chieftainces in present-day Hariana, all of which were overthrown by Pashtuns in late 18th century (the Pataudi principality of Bollywood's Saif Ali Khan was held by Baluchs before them). Eclipsed by Pashtuns, there were not many Baluchs left in Gurgoan, Rohtak etc when 1901 census was conducted. The most interesting piece of information about history of these Baluchis is that they participated in the slaughter of Maratha fugitives after battle of Panipat. Baluch zamindars of Farrukhnagar and Bahadurgrah slew Maratha leader Antaji Manakeshwar. After the battle of Panipat, these Baluchs of Hariana were harassed by powerful Jats under Surajmal who wanted to annex their lands so they became proteges of Rohilla leader Najib-ud-daula who had become dictator of Delhi at that time. This caused a war between Surajmal Jat and Najib-ud-daula in which the former was killed. According to 18th century biography of Najib-ud-daula by Nuruddin, the injured Surajmal was beheaded by an officer of Najib-ud-daula by name of Sayyido Baluch.
