Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has been dropped from the upcoming Bollywood movie 'Raees' amidst the growing political tension between Pakistan and India.

The actress, who had been cast as the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the film, has been removed according to the Indian media. A source close to the film revealed that despite trying to work out the situation, there was no other way for the director to release his film unless Mahira was removed and thus the decision has been taken.

“It was a very painful decision for producer Ritesh Sidhwani to take. The pressure to replace her had been building up for months. It reached a crescendo after the Uri attacks. It came to a point where it became impossible to shoot with any Pakistani. People suggested all kinds of solutions to the impasse, including shooting in Dubai. But it didn’t seem viable. Now, Mahira has unfortunately been relieved of her duties,”DNA quoted a source as saying.

The makers of the film are now looking for a Bollywood actress to be cast opposite Shah Rukh and have a two week deadline to finalize the female lead.

It is unfortunate how terror attacks have impacted businesses and trade badly. Thousands of traders on both sides of the borders have lost money but people do not see that. It is a disaster.

ڈی این اے نیوز کے مطابق بھارت میں ہندو انتہا پسندوں کی طرف سے شدید دباﺅ کے بعد پرو ڈیوسر رتیش سدھوانی نے مائرہ خان کو فلم سے نکانے کا فیصلہ لیا ۔ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ گزشتہ کئی ماہ سے مسلسل دباو بڑھنے کے بعد رتیش سدھوانی نے یہ تکلیف دہ فیصلہ کیا کہ مائرہ خان کو فلم سے نکال دیا جائے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اڑی حملے کے بعد مائرہ خان کو فلم میں رکھنا نا ممکن ہو گیا تھا ۔فلم پروڈیوسر نے بالی ووڈ سے نئی اداکارہ ڈھونڈنا شروع کر دی ہے ۔

لاہور(آئی این پی) اداکارہ مہوش حیات نے کہا ہے کہ بھارتی فلم میکرز زیادہ تر پاکستانی فنکاروں کو بی اور سی کلاس کام دیتے ہیں ، آئٹم سانگ کرنا کوئی غلط کام نہیں، مجھے انڈین فلموں میں کام کرنے کا کوئی شوق نہیں ۔ میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے اداکارہ مہوش حیات نے کہا کہ پاکستانی فنکارشہرت کیلئے بھارت جاتے ہیں مگر آجکل بھارت پاکستانی فنکاروں کے ساتھ جو سلوک کر رہا ہے اس پر انکی آنکھیں کھل جانی چاہئیں ۔انہوں نے کہا میرے پاس اپنے ملک کے ڈراموں اور فلموں کی بہت آفرز ہیں اب وقت آچکا ہے کہ ہماری اپنی پروڈکشنز معیاری اور بین الاقوامی معیار کی بن رہی ہیں۔

Why are you blaming them. Artists are human and they are just showing love for there country.It was these actors having no self respect and hiding behind the words like "Citizen of the World" or "Actor has no boundaries".They were there for money and fame its simple

Only reason we hire actors across the fence is, to make more money by screening the movies multiple screens across fence, whats wrong in throwing few bundles of money across the fence when we get truck loads back.
