Mahindra Racing creates history by becoming the first and only Indian team to win the Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (CIV). The team finished its debut season with a DOUBLE PODIUM finish by talented young riders Miroslav Popov and Lukas Trautmann at the Round 8 (Vallelunga) of CIV’12.

Mahindra Racing reign supreme

Mahindra Racing created history by winning the constructors title in the 125GP class at the Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Vallelunga Circuit on Sunday.

The team consisting of 17-year-old Miroslav Popov and the Austrian teenager Lukas Trautmann finished first and second in the 16-lap final race of the season. Popov started the race from pole position after the outstanding performance displayed in qualifying while Trautmann moved up from the third row of the grid.

Popov was in the lead immediately after the start while Trautmann was third at turn one. Popov also set the fastest lap of the race. After making its CIV debut this year, Mahindra Racing became the first from India to win an international motorsport event when Moretti took the chequered flag at the season-opening race in Mugello, Italy in March.

What happened to Moto GP race in India ?? Will it be organized or not ??

BIC looks a perfect track for moto GP, why don't they start organizing this events..

Nice- what about the riders?- no indian riders to drive?-
the bike is it mahindra made?-
or mahindra is just a sponser?-

If you want to work in indigenous automotive industry and want a R&D profile, Mahindra Automobiles is your best option !!

I believe the BIC is on the calendar for the 2013 MotoGp Season and other international motor sports are looking to come to India through BIC.

Now there is an Indian team in F1 and Bike racing the key is to bring in Indian talent otherwise it is for nothing.

No friend. It's good thing evenif no Indian star come out in these events. These are things develop techno base which can further help domestic industry in automobile or at best some defence use.

Just remember ATVS come from racing sports.

I personally don't think any Indian driver can come out real soon in these events. Look at the ages of the guies 17/18. Our guies don't even allowed 100cc bike still we cross 18 :D

Im sure Mahindra can make bikes for Moto-GP as well. We need to
overthrow Ducati.
