Magnum Research’s New MLR Ultra .22 LR

has Magnum Research, Inc. (MRI) introduced a new rifle to itsMagnum Lite rimfire rifle product line: the MLR Ultra .22 LR.

The MLR Ultra .22 LR features a modular, tensioned-type barrel attached to a stainless steel breech and muzzle caps inside a thin-walled aluminum construction. The barrel is also black anodized and incorporates an integral patented heat sink.

The MLR22ATU measures 36 1/8″ in length and weighs just 4 lbs. 8 oz. It has a barrel length of 18″. Features include a 1 in 16 twist, Bentz chamber, ambidextrous thumbhole stock design with a comb designed for scope use, integral Weaver type scope mount base on the receiver, extended magazine release, swivel studs and checkering on the palm swell grip. The length of pull for the MLR22ATU is 13 5/8″, and it has a suggested retail price of $544.00.

The MLR22ATUT model is similar to the MLR22ATU but has muzzle threads of ½ x 28 and is able to accommodate a suppressor. The weight is the same as the MLR22ATU, but the barrel length and overall length are slightly longer at 18 1/2″ and 36 5/8″, respectively. Suggested retail for the MLR22ATUT is $571.00.

Both rifles use the 10/22 trigger group and 10/22 rotary magazines. The two barrels are also sold separately for those upgrading 10/22 rifles.
