NEW DELHI: A Kerala girl has topped the CBSE Class 12th exams when the results were declared Monday. M Gayathri of New Green Field School, Saket, Delhi, has emerged topper by scoring 99.2%. Gayathri, daughter of Mohanan of Thiruvananthapuram, has scored 496 marks out of 500. Kerala has recorded the highest pass percentage of 95.41.
The pass percentage in the country is 82 % as compared to 82.70 in 2014. As usual, girls have performed better than boys in the class 12 results. The pass percentage of girls was 87.57 as compared to boys', which was 77.77 per cent.
Maithili Mishra of Amity International, Noida is the second topper. She has scored 495 marks out of 500. Sarthak Agarwal who scored 99.6 % last year is the highest scorer in the history of CBSE exams.
10, 40,368 students have taken the CBSE Class 12 examination. Out of that
6,07,383 were boys and 4, 32,985 were girls.
