The German shipyard Lürssen has delivered the first of the patrol boats that it is building for Saudi Arabia's Border Guards.

The vessel, Jeddah (TR 5243), was photographed being carried through the Kiel Canal on the cargo vessel BCC Pearl on 21 September. The BBC Pearl's AIS transponder shows it arrived in the Saudi port of Jeddah on 18 November.

The local newspaper Ostsee-Zeitung reported in September that the second patrol boat, which it named as Addayar, had left the construction hall at Lürssen's Peene shipyard in Wolgast.

The photographs show the vessels being built for the Saudi Border Guards are CSB 40 patrol boats, which Lürssen said has a length of 40 m and a displacement of 210 tonnes.
