Looks Like a US-Led Military Coup May Develop in the Philippines
June 17, 2017 at 12:57 am
Written by Anti-Media News Desk

In late May, the Philippines became the first nation in Asia to have one of its cities fall to the terror group Daesh (ISIS) and its affiliates. The southern city of Marawi was overtaken by hundreds of gunmen who took control of multiple landmarks and the majority of the city’s residential areas. In response, President Rodrigo Duterte declared martial law in the entire region of Mindanao, where Marawi is located.

While the Philippine Army has been holding its own against the militants, the United States joined the fight on Saturday, sending U.S. special forces to provide “technical assistance.”

We're revolutionizing the news industry, but we need your help! Click here to get started.
The Philippine Army in a statement cited by Reuters asserted that the U.S. had no “boots on the ground” in the fight and is only offering technical assistance to Philippine forces seeking to reclaim Marawi. The U.S. Embassy in Manila has stated that the U.S. offered the support to the Philippines at the request of the Philippines government, though they refused to provide further details on the alleged request.

The Pentagon also confirmed increased U.S. military presence in the Philippines, stating that it is providing Philippine forces with aerial surveillance and targeting, electronic eavesdropping, communications assistance and training. It also stated that 300 to 500 U.S. troops are in the country to “support regular training and activities,” though no further details were given.

But less than a day later, the U.S.’ justification for its increased military presence in the Philippines fell apart, as Duterte said at a press conference on Sunday that he “never approached America” for help and that he was entirely unaware of their presence “until they arrived.” This statement came months after Duterte had ejected the very U.S. special forces that have since returned.

Philippines' Duterte says didn't seek U.S. support in city siege

While the Philippine government claims that it did not request U.S. military aid, it remains unconfirmed if the Philippine Army requested the aid independently without consulting the federal government.

Duterte insinuated during Sunday’s press conference that this may be the case, stating that due to years of U.S. training, “our soldiers are pro-American, that I cannot deny.” He did not explicitly comment on whether the army had asked for U.S. military aid without his approval.

The Philippine Army’s ties to the U.S. go back nearly a century, as the Philippines was – for all intents and purposes – a U.S. colony following the U.S.’ overthrow of the revolutionary Filipino government in 1902 at the conclusion of the Philippine-American War. Since then, ties between the two have remained incredibly close. For instance, the entire Philippines Army was absorbed into the U.S. military during World War II by U.S. presidential edict. In the decades since, the U.S. has continued to station military advisers in the Philippines to train its troops and joint exercises between the two nations were routinely held until Duterte became president.

However, the Philippine military seems to have admitted to asking for the aid. Philippine military spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla told the Associated Press: “We don’t have adequate surveillance equipment, so we asked the U.S. military for assistance. It’s non-combat assistance.”

If Padilla’s assessment of events is confirmed, it could mean troubling times ahead for the island nation. Nearly every U.S.-backed military coup in history involved the U.S. convincing the military to oust or refuse to take orders from the nation’s president.

Duterte has made waves with the U.S. political establishment and likely the pro-American Philippines military for his stated plans to eject U.S. military personnel from the Philippines during his term. He has also widened the rift between both sides by seeking greater ties with U.S. rivals China and Russia.

As a result of this stance, Duterte, just days before Marawi fell, expressed his concern that he could be targeted by a U.S.- or CIA-led coup. He told RT that he is well-aware of the price that is often paid by leaders who back out of strategic alliances with the United States, stating “I said about [removing] the American troops, that one day, during my term, if I survive the CIA, I still have five years to go.”
Duterte, in the past, has indirectly blamed the U.S. for the persistent insurgency in its southern regions. When Duterte ejected U.S. special forces from the southern Philippines last year, he stated that his nation’s alignment with the Western world was at the root of the rise in Islamic extremism there. “For as long as we stay with America, we will never have peace in that land [Mindanao],” Duterte stated at the time. In his more recent interview with RT, Duterte stated that most Daesh militants are foreign and “Caucasian-looking.”

The fact that Mindanao is the very region now threatened by Daesh suggests that documented U.S. intelligence plans to use the terror group as a tool to destabilize and overthrow democratically-elected presidents may now be coming to fruition in the Philippines.

Duterte: New World Order Using ISIS To Destroy My Beloved Philippines
June 16, 2017 Baxter Dmitry News, World 10
ISIS-destroying-phillipines-Duterte-678x381.jpg

The New World Order unleashed ISIS on the Philippines as punishment for going against the globalist agenda, according to President Rodrigo Duterte, who claims the removal of Rothschild banks from his country was “the tipping point” that triggered the death cult’s invasion.

Now the U.S. military have invaded the country, on the pretext of fighting ISIS just like in Syria, but President Duterte, who didn’t invite the U.S. military into the Philippines, is not falling for the lies.

The operation to destroy my beloved Philippines is in full swing,” President Duterte told supporters and injured soldiers. “The infiltration of Daesh, who are now negotiating with opposition groups to form political alliances, is a New World Order tactic you can see all around the world now.

Open your eyes and you will see the same pattern in the Middle East, in Europe.”

Philippines' Duterte says didn't seek U.S. support in city siege

Duterte is concerned that he will be targeted by a U.S.- or CIA-led coup. He told RT that he is well-aware of the price that is paid by leaders who refuse to sign up to the globalist agenda, stating “
I said about [removing] the American troops, that one day, during my term, if I survive the CIA, I still have five years to go.”

The globalists’ unholy war on the Philippines occurred in three clear phases.

First, a propaganda war began in the West, with mainstream media outlets smearing Duterte at regular intervals. President Duterte’s harsh words about President Obama were intentionally taken out of context, and the successful operations against terrorist cells and drug traffickers in the Philippines, which was on the verge of becoming a narco state, led to protests of global organizations, human-rights groups as well as several governments including the EU and US.

Then the New World Order’s media operation went into full swing. In a few months, using the established techniques of smear and distortion, Duterte went from being an outspoken and unconventional president to being defined by international media as a bloody murderer.

This led to President Duterte telling George Soros that he was not welcome in his country, warning the globalist billionaire that “there is a bounty on your head” in the Philippines.
philipines-president-soros-678x381.jpg

Soros promptly cancelled a proposed “humanitarian visit” to the islands – and shortly after the New World Order has declared war on the Philippines.

Now Duterte and his patriots are locked in a vicious battle with ISIS, fighting hand to hand with the jihadis in southern cities, as the New World Order’s hit squad continue their global destabilization project.

ISIS fighters, the globalist’s private militia, are now swarming in southern Philippines cities, doing the New World Order’s dirty work, while the U.S. military orchestrates regime change from the wings.

Despite the critical state of affairs, Western media continue to attack Duterte. Rather than informing their audience about the president’s brave efforts to protect his people against the rampaging death cult, Western liberal media is ignoring the real issues and publishing vile and misleading hit pieces.

The most prominent story published in Western media about Duterte since the ISIS invasion was a hit piece criticizing the president’s “locker room talk” with members of the armed forces engaged in the battle to save their country.

Rather than praise the president for his hands-on role, western media feigned outrage about his “politically incorrect” choice of words.

The president has had his reputation attacked relentlessly by mainstream media around the world, despite his sky-high approval ratings at home. Now his country is being physically attacked by globalist-backed radical Islamic terrorists.

Backing the president of the Philippines in his fight with ISIS, and rejecting the mainstream media’s deceptions, is the least that patriots and nationalists around the world can do.

You don't wanna mess with US do you? Well then this is what you get. Why did PH suck it up to US in the first place and now crying over it.

Why are you condoning and apologizing for Western neo-imperialism? Sad that the British Raj didn't teach you to have any empathy for other oppressed brown people with the white man's boot on their neck.

The Indian middle class doesn't give a flying turd about the fate of their low caste compatriots. How much empathy would they spare for dark skinned foreigners? In fact, they pretty much identify themselves with USAmerican imperialism just like the Indian compradores during British ruling identified themselves with the Brits, albeit as second class human.

.
We should definitely provide help, but I'm skeptical that putting boots on the ground is the right answer. The US may be baiting China the same way they baited the USSR in Afghanistan.

On another note, this ISIS in the Philippines business goes to show how irredeemably evil the US is. They are willing to lay waste to one of their most staunch and loyal allies, using their terrorist proxies, just to lay a trap.

Yeah, US of A want to Bait Russian in Syria.
to Suffer Russian like US of A in Afghanistan and Iraq.

But, Russian is Smarter than them.
They don't eat the bait, only Send Airstrike support and Special Forces Troops on the Ground.
Look at in Syria today, Russian is Winning right now.

Lol you have comprehension problem? I wasn't praising anyone. I'm just talking about the state of Philippines. Who used to be BFF of US knowing the troubles and now wants to get rid of it.

You went on with British raj and all. Speaking of which, we all know who copies the western system. From the communism to doing business and even the dressing and standard. Not to mention the 'rent a white man' for business.

That's one kinda of a verbal diarrhea.

Are Indians that really dumb? You asked why PH was sucking up to US in the first place and now crying over it. The one who was sucking up to US was the previous president not Duterte. Aquino obeyed to whatever Obama fed him as the US was only using PH to cause problems in the region. Duterte saw through US tricks and wants to get rid of US meddling in PH affairs so that his country can have an independent foreign policy. By doing this ISIS suddenly appeared in PH so did Duterte invite trouble? You are blaming the poor guy while he is having a tough time dealing with drug dealers and now ISIS. So what are you suggesting Duterte should do? Keep sucking up to US and shut up so that PH will always remain a slave country to US? I guess you have ill wish towards PH then o_O

You are arguing with a people where, as his compatriot in my posted video said, the concept of reason does not exist. You might as well speak to a plant, though talking to plants is more pleasant and probably would result in prettier flowers and tastier fruits.

I wonder which itch drives USA,s Government to leave its land and mess with other countries way across the seas and several thousand miles away and have no competitive military strength compared to USA,s.and most important they get nothing in the end except leaving those countries war torn and far from recovering anytime soon?

'Dirty Duterte' on the ropes as ISIS, US Special Forces crash the Philippines

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has found himself in a perilous situation, as Islamic State-linked militants continue a siege in the country’s south, while US Special Forces have arrived to lend 'technical support.' What could possibly go wrong?

Just last month, Rodrigo ‘Dirty’ Duterte appeared to be riding high on the tiger of geopolitics with surprising authority. He had just served notice to the United States that, although he considered Donald Trump a “friend,” he would be realigning his foreign policy trajectory towards Russia and China. This punch to American pride came after he had requested more than once that US soldiers stationed in the Philippines pack up their gear and go home.

In other words, Duterte, failing to understand that the US superpower plays for keeps, was seeking to terminate US-Philippines relations with an amicable separation, as opposed to a full-blown bitter divorce.

“I have nothing against America, [President Donald] Trump is my friend. But my foreign policy has shifted. I want to deal with China and Russia. Because in the Western world, it’s double talk,” he said, before going into full-blown dirty Duterte mode as he twisted the rubber knife, as it were. “You (the United States) treat me as if I am your colony still? You must be kidding! We are an independent country. I want my country treated with dignity,” he railed.

via GIPHY

At this point, you could almost hear US fighter jets revving up their engines in the distance.

What is so unsettling about Duterte’s patriotic rant is that similar sentiments have been expressed many times before by other proud leaders, many of whom– together with their countries – went on to meet a tragic end, courtesy of the US military. Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi come to mind.

These two leaders made the deadly mistake of being in the wrong place at the wrong time (i.e. sovereign leaders of their sovereign states) as Uncle Sam – playing judge, jury, and executioner – unilaterally condemned them and their people to senseless death and destruction. But I digress.

On May 23, Rodrigo Duterte was tossed like a rag doll from the tiger and left scampering for cover. Islamic State-linked militants mounted a siege in Marawi, a Muslim-dominant city on the southern island of Mindanao, forcing Duterte to declare martial law. A heavy footnote here is that Mindanao is where over 100 US Marines and Special Forces have been on rotational duty for many years.

So how have these US military assets been occupying themselves all these years? Certainly not by knitting quilts. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a US official was quoted by Reuters as saying US military support included a P-3 Orion surveillance plane that provides “aerial surveillance and targeting, electronic eavesdropping, communications assistance.” How the ragtag band of jihadis managed to mount their siege without prior warning from all this flashy surveillance technology is a question worth considering.

Duterte claims ‘never approached’ US for help in battle against Islamist militants (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

More perplexing, however, is that Duterte – a day after the US Embassy in Manila confirmed the presence of US troops in Marawi – said he never asked for such assistance. “I never approached any American to say ‘Help us,’” Duterte told a press conference, according to Rappler, a Philippines news site. Or is Duterte simply too proud to admit he needs US assistance in this emergency?

Meanwhile, the jihadist incursion of Marawi also forced Duterte - aside from declaring martial law - to cut short a trip to Moscow, as well as a meeting with President Putin. How’s that for coincidence theory? But was any of this really unexpected?

The impetuous Philippines leader, in his haste to announce independence from American suzerainty, seems to have seriously underestimated recent US power moves in the South China Sea. This was no trivial pawn move on the global chessboard, but rather an entirely new concept of American strategy known in think-tank circles as the ‘Asia Pivot.’ If Duterte somehow thought the Philippines, with its strategic proximity to China, did not figure into the game, he was sadly mistaken. Does any of this sound familiar?

Another ISIS crisis to be 'solved'
Who could fail to see the parallels between the situation in the Philippines with that of Syria, where the US military, initially prevented from carrying out any sort of military action, eventually got the green light thanks to the arrival of a little-known, ultra-violent terrorist group called ‘Islamic State’ [IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL]. Now the United States believes it has acquired some sort of moral authority for carrying out what amounts to the illicit invasion of yet another sovereign state.

However, that is just the beginning of the strangeness. Many have questioned how IS, bereft of any sort of sophisticated fighting apparatus - not least of all an air force - could have continuously evaded the mighty US military, even as the terrorist convoys traveled across wide-open desert in broad daylight between Iraq and Syria.

Professor Michel Chossudovsky, writing in Global Research, forwarded the question so many people have been asking: “Why has the US Air Force not been able to wipe out the Islamic State, which at the outset was largely equipped with conventional small arms not to mention state of the art Toyota pickup trucks...The Syro-Arabian Desert is open territory. With state of the art jet fighter aircraft (F15, F22 Raptor, F16), it would have been – from a military standpoint – a piece of cake, a rapid and expedient surgical operation, which would have decimated the Islamic State convoys in a matter of hours.

Instead, what we have witnessed is an ongoing drawn out six months of relentless air raids and bombings, and the terrorist enemy is apparently still intact,” Chossudovsky concluded.

For anybody who doubts the veracity of that assertion, a declassified US document, obtained by government watchdog Judicial Watch, shows that US policymakers actually encouraged the growth of Islamic extremist groups as a way to “isolate the Syrian regime.”

The heavily redacted document notes, among other disturbing revelations, "the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist Principality in eastern Syria (Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor), and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion (Iraq and Iran).”

Earlier on, the document describes those “supporting powers” as “the West, Gulf countries, and Turkey.”

These highly disturbing factors, compounded by the US military’s tendency to strike pro-government Syrian forces, either “accidentally” or deliberately, suggest that the US-led Western forces would rather take their chances with the vilest terrorist forces on the planet than work with the popularly supported leader of a sovereign state, Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Back to the Philippines. Although Duterte pledged to remove the IS-linked Maute group from Marawi by June 12, that deadline has come and gone, and despite the purported assistance of the global superpower. In fact, the situation on the ground is becoming nothing short of horrific.

Zia Alonto Adiong, the Governor of Lanao del Sur province, said scores of bodies are lying in an area that saw heavy gunfire.

“Dead bodies, at least 100, scattered around the encounter area,” Adiong told reporters, according to Reuters. He added the unsavory detail that locals trapped in the middle of the fighting have resorted to "eating cardboard boxes" out of hunger.

Clearly, President Rodrigo Duterte – like Syrian President Assad – is facing the ultimate challenge to his presidency. And considering his past pledge to realign Philippine foreign policy away from Washington and towards Moscow and Beijing, the question is an obvious one: Are those US Marines and Special Forces in the Philippines, which, as in Syria, appeared without invitation, there to help the Duterte government, or do they have other ideas in mind, which will only become painfully apparent when it’s too late for the Philippines leader?

As is the case with Syrian President Assad, time will tell what is in store for President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines. My personal hunch is nothing good.

Terror proxies have a funny habbit of showing up whenever the Empire needs some extra death and chaos.

Mr. Duterte has made it easy for the Empire to remove him.. with all his brovados and calling names...

No. The traget of any military takeover all has to do with SCS and installing a puppet in PH for troublemaking in SCS.

Current PH Pres is not game for the Empire of Death. And the Western media would not even utter a word about democracy. On the contrary it would even support the new puppet, getting rid of bad boy Duterte.

China should avoid getting involved in PH...supporting only through material support if/when necessary.

It is time for ASEAN to take the lead with full support of China. This is the only way that colonialism will finally end in SE Asia. High time too.

With creating peace and stability in SCS China can offer an environment to SE Asian states to come out of the shadow of the Empire of Death and its proxies.

Terrorism as tool has failed now. Though it does bring the question forward...that there must be some technology employed by the terror sponsors/creators for terror proxies to do such hineous acts.. can't just be relgion alone.

DUTERTE: Anti-ISIS operation “winding-up”
ADAM GARRIE
Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has appeared in public after five days of absence due to reportedly bad health.

In a statement to Philippine troops fighting the ISIS insurgency in the southern Philippine city of Marawi he said,

“The fighting is going on, but it’s winding up.

It’s difficult to fight those who are willing to die. They have corrupted the name of God in the form of religion to kill many innocent people, for nothing”.

He confirmed that the current death toll from the fighting is as follows:

–225 terrorists

–59 Philippine soldiers

–26 Philippine civilians

Many expect these figures to rise before this particular front in the fight officially ceases.

Many figures in the Philippine opposition, those in the Liberal Party in particular have been calling for Duterte’s resignation over his decision to put the southern Philippine Island of Mindanao under martial law, Duterte continues to defend his decision saying,

“If that rebellion burns Mindanao and the other parts of the Philippines, then I’ll be forced to declare martial law again – this time I would do it on my own to preserve my nation. I will not consult anybody and there is no telling when it would end”.

He continued,
“The terrorists are committing rebellion, the rebels are committing rebellion. What do you want? That they burn half of Mindanao before we call it a true-blue rebellion? It’s crazy”.

Many have feared that the political pressure including many alleged conspiracies against Duterte have taken a toll on the leader. He responded to these questions in a humble yet partly ambiguous manner stating,

“Do not worry (about my health). My state of health is immaterial. There is the vice president who will take over”.

There remains a danger that Duterte’s strong leadership could be the first political casualty of a war against ISIS that many politicians have opportunistically used to try and weaken their popular political rival.
