The police needs to remember the message of Quaid and remember they are subservient to the nation and recognize the difference between lawful and unlawful orders.

However its more likely Zardari is paying them like thugs and getting his work done.

Female activists of the Long March Women protestors are being manhandled in the on going Long March. Pictures of women lawyers and political activists being brutally pulled and pushed into police vans have been beamed across the world. PPP leader Naheed Khan too has expressed shock over the incidents of manhandling of women by the authorities.

There were reports in the run-up to the Long March that the Punjab Governor had recalled and reappointed hundreds of bureaucrats and police personnel that had been black listed by the FIA and ISI.

Nothing Zardari and his minions are doing right now is legal.

This is far worse than what Musharraf did. He has no right to be President of Pakistan after presiding over such blatant violations of the law and basic freedoms.

I hope the protests, civil disobedience and political backlash reach a point where he has no choice but to leave, and I hope the saner voices in the PPP led coalition realize that one corrupt power hungry individual is not greater than the nation.

I am no longer in support of a compromise that leaves him President - he has gone too far.

GO ZARDARI GO!

Yaar, without present he was mr10%... So we should have known it then. I bet we are capable to re-elect him in a year after Nawaz does exactly the same. As long as we do not have intellectual parlement and decent ballance and control (lawyers) we can repeat. It is a shame that we now suppotr the same person that hijacked a plane with hundreds of civilians...

I'm told by my dad, who is fluent in Sindhi, that the ultimate insult they have is, Kuroh.

So may I suggest, Kuroh Zardari Kuroh!

Not to be mistaken for Punjabi's Koorah. It is more similar to the Punjabi word Koor.

Kuroh means Promise breaker/Liar.

That is why I hope, despite the chances of things spinning out of control, that the civil protests are allowed to continue and joined by Pakistanis from the other provinces as well, and it is a popular nationwide civil movement that forces the PPP to reconsider their support for such a man.

If he loses the PPP stalwarts, forming his own 'PPP branch' will be doomed to failure - he is not BB - he is riding on the coattails of the BB and PPP name and prestige.

As far as supporting NS goes - support him so long as his actions are in support of justice, fairness and the rule of law. We should support him now because he is pushing a just cause, if later he does what Zardari is doing, we should then oppose him as well.

I tried to go to islamabad today but couldnt, Faisalabad is literally sealed. Somehow I managed to cross the first barrier but failed to cross the second, so had to return back...wasted 4 hours :(...anyhow atleast I tried :)

Exactly, Nawaz Sharif is great right now but lets never make a demigod out of him.

Furthermore, if you remember the Charter of Democracy clearly stated that parties admitted that we've been wrong about many things before but now for national interest there is a need for change.

PPP failed to deliver on CoD because of Zardari, lets hope Noon league is different.
