Kalaikunda is the same IAF Airbase which earned the PAF No 14 Squadron the famous ''Tail Choppers'' designation after this unit decimated some 14 IAF Aircraft on the ground on the first day of 1965 war. The PAF also only lost one F-86 during this operation.

Actually no since the IAF, albeit 50 years later, finally admitted to losing 35 aircraft on the ground in the first two days of the war so the final figure is bound to be much higher.
