Sources have learnt that Lockheed Martin is positioning to be a serious contender to meet all C4ISR-related requirements of the Indian Armed Forces, with emphasis on Network Centric Operations.
Linking all information assets in the battle space - the joint command headquarters, a forward based ground force, an Expeditionary Strike Group, an airborne strike package - is the key to transforming information superiority into combat power.
Sources indicate that Lockheed Martin is currently in negotiations with Indian I.T. giant, Wipro.
Furthermore Lockheed Martin is in active discussions with the Indian Air Force to assist in setting up an advanced data link testing laboratory in India and is also in discussion with the Indian Ministry of Defense, Integrated Defense Staff, to provide additional Homeland Security briefings.
Lockheed Martin-developed systems enable the military to coordinate thousands of air combat sorties a day, command and control hundreds of thousands of ground troops theater-wide, and collect and analyze intelligence data from sensors at sea, on the ground, in the air and in space.
With deep technology expertise in embedded software and system design, coupled with traditional strength in communications, Wipro is uniquely positioned to cater to the diverse technical needs of its aerospace, defense and satellite customers.
Wipro is already providing solutions for:
* Avionics
* Navigation
* Communications (ground and satellite-based)
* Systems Design,
* Technical Publications
* Testing
* Engineering Design
* Product Life cycle Management (PLM)
