Defence and security company Saab has received an order for RBS 70 missiles from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Latvia. Deliveries will take place during the period 2016-2017. Latvia has been an RBS 70 customer since 2004, and in 2015 Saab signed a contract with the Latvian Ministry of Defence for deliveries of RBS 70 missiles. http://worlddefencenews.blogspot.nl/2016/09/saab-wins-order-from-lithuania-for-rbs.html

In November 2004, RBS 70 was ordered by the Latvian Air Force. Deliveries were made in 2006 and 2007. Also in November 2004, a number of RBS 70 systems were handed over by Norway to Lithuania, free of charge.

The Latvian and Lithuanian air forces have successfully test-fired Saab's RBS 70 NG during the air defence exercise, Baltic Zenith 2016.
Developed for air defence combat situations, the RBS 70 NG VSHORAD missile system offers fully integrated 24/7 all-target capability.
