I don't think it's a good idea for China to become a "superpower" by the current definition of the word, which involves "global power projection".

I will be happy if China continues to improve the lives of our people, I don't care about power projection.

We have just as much incentive to try as anyone else. Not to mention, we are also one of the oldest civilizations in the world , like China. Add population, size, location, ancient culture to that and you will get an interesting combo.

That is a lot of options. How can Korea be a superpower? Even a unified Korea won't be big enough.

EU won't be a superpower, because the EU is not a country.

The EU is made up of 27 different countries. They all have their own opinions, their own directions, and their own national interests. And often, their national interests will conflict, such as what happened during meltdown of the Greek economy. They don't speak with one voice, they can't act as one unified entity.

The BRIC countries, I don't know. Certainly not within the next few decades.

The real superpower is Antarctica. They are the most peaceful continent with 0 wars, 0 killed, 0 deaths. It can never be militarily conquered. No one can occupy it. If things go bad, they can kill half of humanity. That's real superpower.

Super power country should be able to overcome problems within its own country first..so india will be a true super power when there is no poverty..population growth is controlled...everyone understands that cleanliness is next to godliness is not just saying but it is must too..
i wish we get a powerful government that does this...
