We use the G3P4 Variant and actually a good gun; our military is designed to handle India and G3P4 as a long range and accurate gun is perfect for conventional warfare. MP 95 is also good for close range combat that type of combat which we are experiencing now.

400m is long range, with such weight of gun and ammunition soldiers hate it a lot.......

RPD if you pay the images section RPD has been adopted in assault formation rather than support!!

RPD was inducted for use by the SSG because of the cumbersome mobility issues with the MG-3 and its temperamental behaviour (RPD is much more robust), however neither of these are "assault rifles".

One other rifle used in limited numbers has been the Type-81.

I know the type 81 has been evaluated , do you know on what basis it was rejected, it is a supposedly robust rifle with better accuracy than the type 56.

Why would SSG use anything other than FN2000 and M4 carbines?
