Messi.

Ronaldo has many admirable strengths but they are primarily of physical nature than technical.
Ronlado can kick the ball straight and run fast.
He can jump high to win headers.
He has upper body strength to ride challenges
His free kick taking technique involves hitting a spot which makes the ball go unpredictably in any direction rather than bending it into the top corner.It is more of a hit and hope rather than relying on skill.
Also I dislike his showboating and theatrics.

Messi on the other hand can do things with the ball at his feet that Ronaldo can not even imagine.
He can also run faster and has vision to make killer passes better than most midfielders. Where as Ronaldo cant pass to save his life.
Messi is simply more talented.

Overall Messi is better suited for top teams that like to retain possession while Ronaldo is more at home in a underdog counter attacking team.Though both players are versatile enough to fit any play style.

Not to mention the fact that Ronaldo used to be a male ballerina till the age of 16.This just clinches it for Messi IMO

A legend . . .. . no one beats his mettle . . . . . i judge a player by his ability to win big matches like a world cup, in 2006 i was supporting France solely on the base of zidane being in the time, and i saw no one else believing that france could even get through the Q.F's , and in the w.c of 2010 when there was no more zidane , the very first match of france in that w.c , i slept after 25 mins into the match that is how boring and wasted the french team was. Ronaldo and especially messi are amazing players but when zidane played he seemed like the center around whom everyone was playing there share . . .. he somehow had this ability to control his team mates as puppets.
