What's new

Life in South Waziristan after 8 years.

.
Good that they can experience life again without having the threat of a bomb explosion every few days. My best wishes to them.

.
Have these people moved back to Waziristan even though U.S
is operating Drones in these areas?

I hate how every Pakistani football pitch doesn't have grass on it.
I know what you mean. When in Pakistan it is the simple things that give away that it is backward country.

* no grass/aritifical grass pitches
* no pavements
* open sewers
* chaotic traffic
* lack of general order and cleanliness
* etc

I mean they've re-built whole towns and villages from scratch - what's wrong with some grass seeds? It's not like it's Thar, it's Waziristan, the grass will grow.

That is Pakistan for you. Yes, indeed they have done much good as you said but true to form all work executed is shoddy, or done partly, or corners cut. Quality and pride in work is lacking cross Pakistan. And the finished product shows.

As a Pakistani we should be more concerned about the cemented cricket pitches.

It is interesting to note how a poor man's game like football is not so popular in Pakistan while a game that requires minimum a bat, a ball and several yards of neeto tape is so popular

Well said friend, these are the basic issues unfortunately die hard noon league supporters don't understand what needs to be done to make Pakistan a progressive state. It makes me sick every time I visit Pakistan apart from new buildings or houses there is a severe lack of planning, there is no law regards to driving everyone just drives like Tom, Dick and Harry, and if some motorbike hits you from behind its automatically your fault, this is a sad of affairs in Pakistan, totally uneducated masses.

I am increasingly fascinated by what appears to be trivia. Because in the small detail I think lies greatness or carries something of fundamentel import.

Your right poor mans sport which is played in slums of Brazil is is almost non existent in Pakistan but a rich mans sport like cricket is the rage. What does it tell us? It tells us -

  • Pakistani society is dominated by the elite
  • Pakistani society is lazy
And anybody wondering what I mean by "lazy" will know what I mean if you have played 10 minutues of football and 10 minutes of cricket.
