China, Russia and the United States are designing and developing next-generation bombers; France and India are each considering developing weapons capable of hypersonic speed; and the United Kingdom is presently arming its Royal Air Force with the Meteor air-to-air missile, which its manufacturer touts as being able to neutralize fighter jets, drones and cruise missiles.
