lol! They were not given permission to engage the order was to abort and let the black mirage go. If you watch the second part of the movie the two pilots were told that the black Mirage was on a special secret mission to test air defense using a commercial plane for cover.

I watched the movie after watching this video. The flying action is amazing, but there are so many things wrong with the story it is not even funny. Anyway, for entertainment purposes, it was quite fun to watch.

By the way, the American release of the movie is called "Sky Fighters". Yes, the name is quite ridiculous, but not as much as the storyline.
