LCA MMR Radar Debute on 23RD April

Not only was the 23rd Significant for it was the First Flight of LSP 3
(LCA no 9) but most important has reported it flew with a NEW RADAR.

THE RADAR was the indian MMR RADAR which has been built designed by indians with Israeli help and incorporates a ELTA PROCESSOR.

I think it confirms wat the indians have always maintained that LCA may enter service with American Engines but the main Radar ELECTRONICS and BVR missle will be indian.

The engine will be the hardest to develope with only Russia Europe and USA building these.

EVEN china relys on Russia at present ..

This radar is drived from EL/M-2032...that was for LAVI........China knew that coz all source code of LAVI was sold to China way back years.....an laterly J-10 came.
Only archetecture of radar have been modified for LCA.
But its not an AESA radar...
So, Y India investing on a radr with an old technology......which will be obselete after few years

Its dedection and tracking range is upto 80NM

this radar only meant for mk-1 which IAF want urgently. Mk-2 will have our own AESA

Read the article again..

It states the Indian MMR is derived from the ELTA 2032 but only uses an Israeli processor. The rest is ALL INDIAN.

It also states THIS MMR radar will only equip the FIRST 40 MK1 tejas fighters.

That India is currently DEVELOPING an AESA RADAR which will equip- MK2 tejas which will also feature the NEW euro fighter engine the EJ200..

Stil its useful to know that only the Engine will be foreign on the TEJAS.
